Tony C | 7 comments A little further into the Naruto series, this volume covers the struggles that Naruto and his comrades Neji, Shikamaru, Choji, and Kiba face as they take on the Sound Four, the henchmen of the lead villain, Orochimaru. These four warriors are a force to be reckoned with, but Naruto and his friends are not about to let them deter them from their mission: to save their fellow ninja, Sasuke, from Oruchimaru's clutches. Despite their past rivalry, Naruto isn't about to give Sasuke up without a fight.....and that is just what the Sound Four are in for! This is one of my favorite volumes because it is not just about the fighting; it's about the emotional ties that drive Naruto and his friends to fight on, despite the odds being mostly against them. Neither Naruto nor his friends comrades were ever very close to Sasuke, but they understand that him being from the same village makes him a brother, and they took a vow to never leave a brother behind when they became ninja. Definitely recommended for anyone who is a fan of anime.
