Author: Alan Bradley
Occupation: Chemist
Would you recommend: I don't think this was a bad book. I usually like mysteries with spunky protagonists, and Flavia is certainly spunky. For reasons unknown this book just didn't click for me, but it is worth a read if funky mysteries are your thing!

Author: Camille Perri
Occupation: Assistant
Would you recommend? Yes, probably. It was a light, fun read - nothing I would read again, but I'd give it to someone for a beach or pool read.

Author: William Gibson
Occupation: Anne is a private teacher for a student who is blind and deaf. I am a day program facilitator for young adults with special needs.
Would you recommend?: Yes

Author: Bel Kaufman
Occupation: Teacher (High school, inner city)
Would you recommend?: I would highly recommend this book if you are a teacher or have a heart for students. I almost gave up on finding this book, but I'm so glad I was persistent. It's delivered through a series of notices from the administration, letters to her best friend, interdepartmental mail with other teachers, and students writing prompts or anonymous notes. By the end of the book, I was crying (good tears) with my hope restored in the work that teachers are doing in the lives of students, whether or not your school looks similar to Calvin Coolidge High School or not.

Author: Caroline Kepnes
Occupation: writer (though this is the occupation of the object of the protagonist's affection)
Would you recommend? Yes, as long as you are okay with very explicit language and situations. I found this book very interesting and really made me question how much of my life I share online.

Author: Martha Cooley
Occupation: Archivist/Librarian
Would you recommend? Yes, but it was very different from what I expected. It's very emotional--about religion, mental illness, relationships, World War II and how people were horrified when they heard what happened to many Jews. There's also the tie with the poet, T.S. Eliot and his wife Vivienne and letters in the archives. Excellent book.

Author: Neal Stephenson
Occupation: Chemist
Would you recommend? Yes. The story lost me at times, there were a lot of characters to keep track of, and it probably didn't help that I couldn't read it for days at a time (we're getting ready to move), but I loved it.

Author: Rebecca Makkai
Occupation: Library Clerk (The main character is a Children's Librarian, so not exactly what I do. Once I get my MLS though I want to switch over to children's library.)
Would you recommend? For some yes, for some no.
