I think there has been a theme of late in non-fiction; and that is of writers who try to show "laymen" how to think in statistical terms, to make better decisions in everything from education and career choices, retirement funds, politics, and life in general. So some of the ideas in this book were a little repetitive to me after having read the freakonomics books, and "Thinking, fast and slow" by Danial Kahneman. But Nate Silver still has an approachable, at times witty style that I appreciated. Also, I just want to be invited to a dinner party thrown by him and his boyfriend.
