Is this book a bit too strange?

what do you mean by strange?

By strange I mean that Kadare incorporated a lot of strange stories such as the crones that lived up to 140 years old and the woman who grew a beard. I personally really liked the bizarreness- at times, it was very thought provoking and it made this book more intriguing.
