Good news, everyone!

VIZ just licensed the original Sailor Moon anime and are going to release all 200 episodes (and movies and tie-in specials), uncut, both in the original Japanese and a NEW ENGLISH DUB (with voices approved by Naoko Takeuchi).

It's very exciting. It's so odd to me that they haven't already done this, but I guess they were waiting for the new series to be near completion. I am very curious about the English dub. I didn't particularly like the old one. I'm hoping that there are some good voice actors.

The absolute best thing about the new release, though? Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune won't be cousins anymore.

I'm looking forward to all those episodes I never saw the first time because I was 8 and watched the dub. ^^;;;

I'm also looking forward to the infamous Dinosaur episode. Apparently, it's never aired State-side, ever. Also, from what I've read, Naoko Takeuchi hated that episode.

More good news, guys! It seems Viz snapped up the license for Sailor Moon Crystal as well!

I heard about this and I am so excited! I am looking forward to the new DUB that has a more acurate translation. I cannot wait until this hits stores!

You should be able to watch the dub when it's released on Hulu or from Viz's streaming site.

I saw the subbed version on Hulu, but I want the new dubbed version so that I can watch it with my daughter. She loves Sailor Moon too, so we were going to watch it together :) I did not think they had even started the new dubbed version (they are getting all new voice actors).

they may have started the dub, but they are not announcing the VAs until July. My guess is that they'll finish showing it in original Japanese before releasing the dub. That's how Anime Network usually does it, so I'm going top guess Viz will do the same.

So a few previews of the new dub by Viz have been released.

So far, I like all the voices. Though, while I like Luna's voice, I think I preferred the original Bossy Mom Luna.

What do you guys think? Has anyone seen the promos for the dub?

Ah, finally figured out the pun. |D

You know Boxy, the youma created when that pastor's rainbow crystal got stolen? I never could figure out why the boxer from the priest. Turns out, the word for priest in Japanese is "bokushi," and so the pun is that "Boxy" is pronounced the same way in Japanese, and the word for "boxing" is "bokushingu."

Loving the rerelease of the original Sailor Moon. Finding all kinds of things that I either missed completely watching it in elementary school or that were cut from the original show.

Dinosaur episode was especially entertaining. Sailor Moon has the weirdest beach episodes.

So the re-release has reached 3rd Season, Heart Snatcher arc. Absolutely loving the fact I can finally see Nepturn and Uranus without things having been edited.

So I'm finally at the end. I have two episodes to go.

I'm curious who else watched the re-release? And what they thought?

Most of the Americans in this group wouldn't have experienced season 5 before now. How do you like the "real" ending to the anime?
