So this topic is entirely devoted to sharing FREE websites that help teach languages in general -- not separate or specific languages (if you want specific sites for particular websites, you can see if there are any listed under the different languages folders, and if there aren't any that are fit to your choice, then message one of the mods and we'll find something ;) )

The sites are listed below: (if you know any, feel free to share them)

Free
www.livemocha.com (Like Layla said, this site is a little confusing)
www.busuu.com (I haven't tried this one; looks good) (view spoiler)
www.duolingo.com (This site only offers 13 European languages including: French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian etc.)
http://www.memrise.com/ (great for visual learners like me)
http://www.babbel.com/ (mostly European languages)
http://www.learnalanguage.com/
http://www.surfacelanguages.com/

*Note: If you know any more, please comment below because language learning sites are not limited to those listed above ^^^

Lostinwonderland I like busuu I've used it

Natasha | 50 comments I'm sure a lot of you have heard of it, but http://www.wordreference.com/ is a really good online multilingual dictionary. It has forums too, so you can search whole phrases and maybe find a complete translation in a forum (if not, you can ask yourself and you'll get help from native speakers). SO much better than Google Translate (which is getting better in a lot of languages, but you can always tell when somebody's used a translator :P)

Natasha S ♥ (tashieareads) I love Memrise! Question: Can I post my link to my profile here, or could you maybe create a thread so we can connect accounts for these kinds of things?!

Thanks so much for these links! I have live mocha, but I'll agree, it can be confusing. I certainly want to check the other sites out!

Anna 'Bookbuyer' (bookbuyer) lang-8: http://lang-8.com/

It's good for those you have a basic grasp of the language and who wish to practice their writing and have it critiqued by native speakers.

Sydney (sydneyokayokay) | 23 comments I love Duolingo! French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, Irish, Danish and Swedish! And Turkish, Hungarian, Esperanto, Norwegian, Vietnamese, Russian, Polish, Ukranian, Romanian are all coming out!
