By now, all of London is aware of Sebastian's penchant for investigating murders. Do you think this makes him more vulnerable? What disadvantages/advantages do you see?

Charlene (charlenethestickler) | 1392 comments Yes, I think Sebastian is more open to the possibility of attack from criminals and politician.

When he goes to question someone now, they know his motivation and are prepared for him. I think that's why so many lied to him repeatedly throughout the story. This was a clear disadvantage. He's also a target as Charlene stated, definitely making him more vulnerable.

As he's clearly a friend of the Bow Street runners, he's also got their protection, for whatever that's worth.

Veronica (readingonthefly) | 694 comments I think it also makes his family vulnerable because now he has a "weakness" that bad people can exploit.

I agree, Veronica.

Joanna | 139 comments There are more disadvantages than advantages by far.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments I agree that he no longer has the "protection" of his anonymity as an investigator and his family is also at risk. However, it also means that those in need can come to him for help such as Lady Peter.
