Hey! So as you all know, I've been super busy with school. I have no idea where Scarlet is so I've kind of been doing this alone. Which is why I need a few mods to help pick up the slack. I'll be checking in regularly, but on the days that I'm busy (like with Science club, homecoming, journalism, helping a friend, and so on and so on...) I would need someone to cover for me. So just answer these questions...I know that there are a lot of you who have been wanting a spot as a mod so...HAPPY EARLY CHRISTMAS! lol

I'd do as said above, PM them, but be as nice and not offensive as I can.

1.) I have been moderator for a few of my own groups and somebody else's at one point too, I think...
2.) I'd call myself responsible with it, yes.
3.) I had some and I wrote them down meaning to tell someone but then I forgot too.
4.) I'd like to say yes but I honestly don't know if I am.

6.) Very often.
7.) It depends on the situation. If it was among members I'd talk to the members who were involved and try to help them solve their problems. If it was over something like a thread or a topic I'd try to fix it and talk with other mods about it and ask for the members opinion. But really it depends on the situation because each situation has it's own solution.
8.)Respond to them all in the order that they had messaged me. Meaning answer them by who messaged me first.
9.) I'd pm both of the people individually and try to help them sort out their problems. If they refuse to sort out the problems or the problem increases I would tell them they need to separate because the group is supposed to be fun for everyone and they're stopping that. If the problem increases even more after that I'd talk to each person again and talk it out with them even more.

I try to resolve the matter neutrally. If it gets out of control, I'll message them privately.

Oh this is pretty simple. I'll respond to all of them together.

First, I'll try a few small tactics to resolve the matter without much drama. My response, of course, will depend upon the situation. However, if the fight is nasty, then I'll switch it to PM.

Candidly, I work well with most people, although if I've had a feud with someone, maybe I won't interact much with them lest something goes wrong.

Yes, I believe in equal treatment/treating others how they treat you.

Becuase for one, I love modding (autocorrect says I love loosing but I don't think that's correct...dumb autocorrect!), and I love helping people, and this group would be the best for that! I also hate it when groups go inactive, so I would try my best to keep that from happening to this group!

As much as possible! So 4-12 hours a day!

I would try to work out a reasonable solution, so that no one has to leave or be upset, but if it gets out of hand, I will delete them from the group, only with consent from Hatter (unless it is REALLY BAD)

Online I'm a little nicer than in real life becuase...well...I don't know...I just am. I would tell everyone to go one at a time. I would tell the first person who talked to me to ask me/say that again, and I would respond, then move down the line in order.

This actually happened in one of the other groups I was in...two people were having an argument, one person was being rather inappropriate while the other was kind of just like dude, stop! So the mod in the situation deleted the one who was being innaproprate. I would tell them to stop, then if that doesn't work, I would delete one or both, depending on the situation.

Mod Experience- Lets just say a LOT. I love modding and helping out with groups

Responsible- Yes, my groups are my babies and this is already a baby of mine :3

Why I want to be a mod- This group is my baby and I love it and everyone in it. I want to make it awesome. Well more than it already is.

Activity- Well right now my time is a bit limited but Im on when I can get on and Id say Im fairly active.

Handle a negative situation- Id nip it in the butt. If two people were fighting Id tell them to go fix it in pm or be a mediator and help them fix it together. If one person is causing too much trouble we get rid of them with an anonymous vote from the mods.

Multiple People talking to me- answer them individually. Example: P1- Yes but I dont like broccoli
P2- Bye have a good weekend
P3- Well you should just do it. Follow your dreams
P4- Do you like radishes

Example Situation- I would take all of those fighting into their own thread or into a small group to work things out, not to the discomfort of others. If they couldn't figure it out on their own I would step in and help out calmly. Then Id see how that goes before making further decisions

Yes, I used to mod for several groups, but on this new account I currently just mod for my group the GS :)

Yes, wholeheartedly! I'll admit I get caught up in school a lot like you do Hatter, but I always find a way to get back to goodreads even when its dumb on my part, and I'm pretty active!

Yes- its pretty much in my nature, on goodreads I'm the social butterfly that sweeps every one under my soft and annoyingly cheesy wing of friendship :)

I don't just want to be a mod for any group I join. It really touched me how you guys let me into your group of friends so fast, and I just feel so included here, and you all have such fun and different personalities... this place us really special to me I guess :3

I try to go on every day, though with school I have to take study days and stuff. At the very least once a week!

I'll be honest and say that I have had negative situations on goodreads before. But what I always do is talk it out with the people involved and pretty much be the mediator, I hope my optimism is contagious!

I just use the reply option and reply to all the comments at the same time, or just keep posting untilI answer them all, because I don't really like feeling like I missed something.

I'd ask them to take the conversarions to their private messages, and try to change the subject to the topic of the thread we're in. It's happened before but I think I was pretty smooth B)

I always try to be, but I guess it is up to the people in the group to decide XD. But I take time to go over my notifications, check in on other topics that I don't get notifications for (because they always get overloaded ^.O), and see if I can make a to-do list on what to do in that group to improve it for the day.

I'll have to check out the other topics to make sure none of my ideas have already been done (I haven't seen all of them yet) but once I've done that, then yes, I think I do have some ideas to improve the group. I'll just have to check with the other mods to make sure they're okay.

I think I am, and I supremely hope I am! If someone tells me I'm not being fair, I'll review the problem and my proposed solution to see if there is anything I could change

During the day I have school, but I'm usually on mostly during that time period (during boring classes in which I can take out my Chromebook without arising suspicion ;). Also, when I have nothing to do, I go on Goodreads. And then BOOM. The day's over XD

First of all, we need to know the problem, so I'd ask the people who were posting during the situation and the people who were actively involved in the argument what the problem was. Then I'd ask if there was anything I could do to help without trying to be offensive. If they say no, I'd also evaluate the situation to see if I needed to step in and read the dialogue to make sure no one was being targeted. If it gets too heated I'd step in and say that's enough. If needed I'd PM the other mods to find out if I'm doing the right thing.

Use @____ or reply individually in separate posts using the original post as the heading of the post to who I am talking to (does that make sense? just using the reply button ;D)

Ask what's bothering them, and if they say "Back off" or "Shut up" or something like that, I'd deal with them immediately, by asking them to please stop or, if I think this wouldn't offend them, tell them to cool down or take a break. Although truthfully if I was told this I'd be mad, so I'd only use this as a last resort. I'd confer with the other mods to try and find a suitable punishment and/or bring the situation to Hatter.

If they just ignore me, I'd follow along in the conversation and find a good place to break it up or propose a solution. If they actually tell me what is wrong, I'd propose a solution directly to them, and if they don't take it, tell them that the argument is starting to get personal and/or make others uncomfortable.

I WOULD NOT tell them to continue in PM because there is always a possibility that one would threaten another that if they told a mod or the police, they'd find them or something of that sort. And we're a family! That can't be happening within our bonds. If it does, then we'll crumble from within.

I believe I do. I am a team player and always worry about how the group's doing and if it can do better, and if I can lend myself to a task that a) hasn't been done or b) someone else is doing but needs help

Hello to the humble members and moderators of this group. For those of you that don't know me so well I will describe to you a little about me. I am in my teens. I love talking about books though I haven't read many, I hear the gossip anyway. I have been a member of this group for a little over a year I think and know most things about and are like I could blind folded XD lol. I am a hard working person that dedicates time to appreciate problems that may be faced, or challenges.

Yes I have been a moderator of several other groups. Two of which are my own, though they have not been active. But I hope to regroup and freshen up those when I am not as busy.

2.) Are you responsible when it comes to matters such as these?
Yes, I would be a responsible person who would go to other members of the group and contribute my thoughts on wether they are at a suitable level of maturity and understand the ropes.

3.) Any ideas to improve the group?
I have had a few ideas to improve the group over the past few months though I did not want to give my opinion just because I thought they where silly. But a few of my idea's was to create a 'talk about your influences' as to future careers and jobs. Possibly for students and graduates who would like to express themselves for what they to there best in and how they got to that job.

Yes, I would deffinatly say that I am a fair person when it comes to friends and close friends on Goodreads. And newbies as well.

I would like to be a moderator for this group to help other people when they need it. If a few moderators are busy in every day life then I am a okay to chip in and take care and help the group out as much as possible. But only before other moderators say yes for that to happen.

Abou 50% of every day, I go on at work, home, school, practically all the time :)

I would talk to other people in a private conversation and talk to negotiate the best possible way of resolving the issue without causing conflict with other members.

Use the '@' sign, symbolling to other people on who I am or aren't talking to so me as well as they don't get confused.

Try and talk to each individual and see what the problem was before talking to other moderators about it so we can all pitch in to find a solution without causing a disturbance.

1) No, but I'm sure that I can still be really helpful when it comes to members and discussions. This would be my first and my best (if I am approved)
2) Yes! I think it's very important that Mods stay updated on the discussions and about contributing thoughts so this group will grow widely. I also think as a Mod, we are supposed to be responsible when it comes to the maturity level.
3) Yes. (we could add like topics and discussions boards, like beauty/fashion and more and people could like chat about what they like about that specific topic)
4) Yes, I believe that being fair is the MOST important thing when being a Mod. You don't choose sides over an argument or such. I'm also kind to everyone, including new people.
5) I think it's such a great and amazing idea about how you made this group for unique-ness. I wish to help out more and create a great environment in this group.
6) I'm on 9/10 (excluding the night lol) I'm on most of the time
7) I would first figure out what was happening when the negative situation took place. I would talk to each person related in private and ask them about what happened and decide a smooth way to resolve the problem.
8) I would use the "reply" or the @ symbol to talk to everyone so they don't feel like left out.
9) I will message each of them privately and decide what's going on and ask other people if they were online about what happened. Then, I would talk to other mods and figure out an answer.

I don't know if you still are looking for mods, but if so...

1.) Absolutely.
2.) Yes.
3.) A few, but I'm new here, so I should probably get the layout before suggesting anything...
4.) 99% of the time. I try to be, but just like everyone else, I have my days.
5.) I feel I can help out with anything you need, and I enjoy being able to take responsibility with things such as this.
6.) Every day Monday-Friday except in the summers.
7.) I would try to figure out what's going on before making a decision, and then strike at the heart of the problem, trying to dispel it in a fasion that would leave no room for another issue of the same type.
8.) In real life it's a bit difficult, but I've gotten used to, and good at, doing it online.
9.) I ask the two if there is anywhere else they can take the argument, and if they would like help sorting it out. If not, I talk to Hatter or one of the other mods with more experience with this group about what we can do with the "problem" members.

Why don't you first get to know people in this group instead of having your first post be a mod application? I believe you have to get to know the group first

True but I'm just saying, get to know the group, go around the group before you decide to ask to be a mod.
