Hello, everyone! Leave all your suggestions for what we should read in October! We are open to many genres, so please don't feel like you're limited to recommending only YA. :)

We would love for our first book to be an #OwnVoices novel, so suggestions pertaining to that will be much-appreciated.

Sri (greenlitmuse) How about 'And the Mountains Echoed' by Khaled Hosseini? =D

I'd really love to read More Happy than Not by Adam Silvera, or something spooky like the Girl from the Well by Rin Chupeco. :3

message 5: by Laura (new)

Laura (lanakilah) I am not sure if they're good representation or not because I haven't read them but I haven't seen any bad comments either (?)

Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra and The Girl From Everywhere by Heidi Heilig

message 6: by Caroline (new)

Caroline (carolinedenise) I'd like to suggest Gender Failure, a collaborative book by my favorite author, Ivan E. Coyote, and Rae Spoon. I haven't read it but I trust Ivan, they are amazing.

Both authors are genderqueer and use gender neutral pronouns.

message 7: by Haniya (new)

Haniya (itsmehaniya) Written In The Stars by Aisha Saeed!

Joana ⁺˖ (jcatarinasousa) The Girl From Everywhere by Heidi Heilig because I have the book and heard it was good

tales from a girl reading (talesfromagirlreading) | 1 comments Hi Everyone, I'm new. These suggestions are great. I second Joana, I just read a review about the The Girl From Everywhere and it sounds good:)

Hey, I'd like to suggest Sofia Khan is not Obliged by Ayisha Malik.
It's an epistolary novel about Muslim woman Sofia Khan as she accidentally agrees to write a book about Muslim dating.
The book will make you feel all the emotions, it's hilarious and sad and makes you think.
The sequel will be released some times next year.

I suggest False Hearts by Laura Lam (or Pantomime by the same author but I don't know if this book can easily be found since it's out of print atm). Both have bi mcs (& the author is bi so #ownvoices). False Hearts is a scifi book with interracial bi mcs while Pantomime is a fantasy book with an intersex mc

Ashley W (ashleeeyyy88) I've had The Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin on my radar for awhile now, especially now that she's won a Hugo award.
