Bree Verity (breeverity) Not sure if I should put this under Writing Romance, or Reading Romance, but I think writing would be smarter, because that's where the writers are, right??

OK, so I set myself a goal of altruistically Beta Reading six books this year. I've just finished the last one I was asked to do, and so I was wondering if any of you lovely ladies have a novel you'd like to be Beta Read. Completely free, of course, and no obligations to read anything of mine as a result. (Therein lies the altruism).

I figured I'd offer to this amazing, friendly group of Romance Writers first, before tackling the morass of -ew- *other* genre writers... ;-)

Note: I don't read erotica, however the books I write are apparently 'hot', so if you write anything between 'clean' and 'hot' I'm cool with that...

Let me know!!

That's very kind of you. I might take you up on that.

Amanda Siegrist (amandasiegrist) *hands out some cookies* Haha. I moved this to Reading Romance actually, since Writing Romance is more for the actual writing of romance:) *smiles*

Don't hate me.....*hands out some more goodies*

And thank you so much for offering to beta read for the amazing people in this group! That's so nice of you:)

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) Hi Bree,
Thank you for your generosity!!

Hi Bree,

I'm seeking betas for a short contemporary romance novella (25k) that takes place during the Christmas season.

Blurb:
For most people, Christmas is a time of joy and anticipation. But, when a freak accident robs Gracie of her memory, the lines between reality and fantasy blur. There's only one gift Gracie wants this Christmas and the only man who can bring it isn't Santa.

The story does not have explicit sex, but there is some swearing.

I'm checking for bugs so I can publish in November. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Joan Carney

Joan, I am so sorry - Goodreads decided in its wisdom to stop sending me advices about this group and this thread. I feel like I've let you down!

I can't help now - am doing Nanowrimo in November which will take up all my time, but please let me know if I can help you again another time.

Let me know when you need a romance to read. I could use a beta reader for a series I'm working on at this time.

Hi Barbara!
I'm doing Nanowrimo in November, so it will be December when I beta again. I'll let you know when I become available again.
Cheers
Bree

B.A. A. Mealer | 68 comments I understand. I don't need to do the Nanowrimo because when I get a book ready to actually write, I can do over 3K words a day. The last book I wrote took me a month while traveling for over 8 hours daily, and it was over 100k words. The key is to have the bare bones written down and then you just sit down and write it. I find the editing is what takes time, but as I write more, even that is taking less time.
I'll take the month and get a couple ready for you.

Bree Verity (breeverity) 3K a day is amazing. I have done days with that many words, but they are few and far between!! I like to do Nano, it forces me to remember how to just get the words down - I'm a great one for editing before I've finished writing the book... which slows progress down to practically zero...

B.A. A. Mealer | 68 comments Quit editing until you have the complete rough draft. If you need to put in TBD (to be determined) that works. The key is to get it completed
Editing will pull it all together.
