Group Reads for November and December Are....

It's the only winter set murder/mystery in the Greek island mysteries series (all the others are set in the summer). It's a stand-alone so no prob with it being book 3. I loved it. Kept my heartbeat racing!

December - A Constellation of Vital Phenomena - Anthony Marra - not sure if this is totally winter themed, but it has a winter-ish cover

DECEMBER - The Children's Blizzard by David Laskin

December - Into Thin Air: A Personal Account of the Mount Everest Disaster - Jon Krakauer
Ok! Polls are open. They will close at Midnight on 10/21 so be sure to go vote soon...

did you decide that A Constellation of Vital Phenomena wasn't winter themed enough - since it didn't make it to the poll?
Dee, I am soooo sorry! I didn't intentionally mean to drop it. I think I may have copied over it by accident. Shoot. I apologize, but I think it's too late to add it in now. Do you forgive me?

Hey guys!
Our November group read is The Wonder by Emma Donoghue. Congrats to Ethan, who will be leading the discussion!
Our December group read had a tie! So I've re-opened the polls. Go break it you guys! We have through the 25th to revote!!!

December's group read is still a tie, you guys.
Winter's Bone by Daniel Woodrell 2 votes
White Heat - M.J. McGrath 2 votes
The first person to comment below on which of the two titles they'd be more interested in breaks the tie! The only rule is the person who comments can't be the person who originally nominated the book : )

If you nominate the book, and the book is chosen as a group read, you agree to lead the discussion for that month! Don't worry, it's not hard, and we'll love you all the more for it!
Please do not nominate a book more than once. A book can only be voted on once, so multiple nominations within this thread are not counted.
Only ONE nomination per month per person.
Please be sure to post the title, author, and the month you are nominating it for.
Ideally, you can type it as follows -
August - Room - Emma Donoghue
If your post does not have those three things, it will not be counted.
Are you ready?
I'll accept nominations through the 10th. If we get tons of nominations, I may pull the plug on it a little early, so get them in as soon as you can!
Once I close nominations I will create the polls and let you know when it is time to vote!
Hit us with your best noms!
**Important note: At no time is it acceptable for an author to nominate one of his/her own books for the monthly group read. Likewise, it is not acceptable to "push" nominations or votes within this group. "A nomination for a nomination" is also not acceptable. If I suspect a push, or inappropriate actions have taken place within the group read nominations or votes, I reserve the right to deem those nominations or votes as ineligible.
