It's going to take me until at least Wednesday to start this, Ann, but I have all 3 Yankee Swap lists, The Boulder Bookstore recommendations any of the two books the authors couldn't wait for us to read from I think 4 of the authors AND the books mentioned during the book club discussion yesterday.

I have a PDF of the Boulder Book Store Staff Recommendations list. I'll post it as soon as I get home from Vermont on Thursday. No need for you to transcribe it, Linda.

Also, pretty. Sure Michael has most of the author recommendations, though maybe not all.

Coleen (coleena312) | 23 comments I just wanted to say THANK YOU Ann, Linda and Michael for all of the follow up work that goes into Booktopia! Of course I am eternally grateful for you making Booktopia happen and the podcast and everything; but I guess I didn't realize the amount of additional work that goes on after. So Thank you!!!!

Linda

If you can send me Peter Heller's "Two Books," I have the rest and am happy to write those up.

Thanks!

I'm late on posting the Boulder Book Store list. Bit of a crazy week (part of our septic system failed so I have no kitchen or shower. Thankfully we have a second system in the back yard that is connected to a small 1/2 bath). I hope to get it up this weekend.

No fun! We had something similar this week except we learned our pipes are collapsed and need to be replaced. :(

Gerald, the way the Yankee Swap works is we all pull numbers. The first person/number picks a book from the pile and then unwraps it, shows it off and then sits down.

The second person does the same except if s/he wants the first book, it can be "stolen" or exchanged with the first person.

The third person can exchange or steel from #1 or #2 and that's the way it goes the rest of the way through the books.

#1 does get to "steal" from anyone after all the books have been picked.

Does that help?

Gerald Miller | 821 comments Linda the last couple of days I have been trying to figure out book swaps and that postal thing. Tomorrow I'll try rocket science. Thanks for trying.

Charlie Brown picks a book from a pile of wrapped books. He unwraps it and show that he got The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt . He sits down.

Snoopy goes next and picks a book from the pile of wrapped books. He unwraps To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee . Since Snoopy has already read To Kill a Mockingbird, he decides to swap with Charlie Brown.

So now, Charlie Brown has To Kill a Mockingbird and Snoopy has The Goldfinch.

Lucy goes next and picks a book from the pile. She rips the wrapping off and discovers she has The Hobbit (Middle-Earth Universe) by J.R.R. Tolkien . She has always meant to read To Kill a Mockingbird so she swaps with Charlie Brown and gives him her book.

So, now, Charlie Brown has The Hobbit, Snoopy has The Goldfinch, and Lucy has To Kill a Mockingbird.

But there are still 20 people to go...

How about that?

The list I was given was marked the most often stolen books and I double checked my markings prior to posting.

Wow, okay, but you as said "**** denotes popular and stolen books" (not most often stolen), I thought you might appreciate being able to make your list more accurate.

And this, I think, is my cue to leave the building.
