I read this book in Jan 2016 and I think I posted a review on Shelfari. Just in case, I decided that I should post a review here as well.

Survival in Auschwitz/If This Is a Man/The Truce

I am a huge "fan" of Holocaust memoirs. This book is
no exception.

Levi was a member of the Italian resistance, caught
and taken prisoner, then sent to Auschwitz in the months
before the camp was liberated. He was one of a very few
to survive. There is a picture taken at the liberation showing
Levi and others.

This story was an open, brutally honest account of a prisoner
in horrific conditions, making his way thru to his survival.

Levi wrote two additional books describing the aftermath,
The Reawakening and The Drowned and the Saved.
The Drowned and Saved and If Not Now, When are also in the 1001 list.
