I have more than a few signed books, as you can imagine. I have a rare albino Wise Man's Fear signed by Patrick Rothfuss and Nate Taylor. Hope to get it doodled on one day from Nate. Pat has asked me for it a few times. Maybe one day I'll give it to him.

Got a copy of The Dark Tower by to me by Stephen King. That has a great story to it and it's really special to me.

What about you? What's your favorite signed book in your collection?

I've got a few favourites too - the Grant edition of the Black House signed by Stephen King and Peter Straub, the anniversary edition of Dragonflight signed by Anne McCaffery, Reaper Man signed and doodled by the late great Terry Pratchett and finally, my first signed book where I queued for hours, The Druid of Shannara signed by Terry Brooks

The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss. Very much looking forward to the third book in the trilogy. Has anyone heard an approximate publishing date?

I have several signed books and a few personalized and some with signed and personalized bookplates. I have a few I consider special.

A first edition paperback of Blood Song by Anthony Ryan which he personalized with a nice message and sent to me. He had first published the book himself in digital which is how I read it. I wrote him about how much I loved the story and that I hoped a publisher would pick it up because I would love a physical copy to put on my bookshelf.

I have all of Michael J Sullivan's books and they have all been signed and personalized, but I hold special the ARC of The Age of Myth, book one in his new series, The Legends of the First Empir

After I told Peter V Brett that I had received a printing flawed book which also had not been personalized correctly, he sent me a new signed and personalized book of The Skull Throne.

I have special hand made signed and personalized printing labels substituting for bookplates in the first 2 books of The Red Queen's War trilogy. The Wheel of Osheim has a square of paper, which serves as a bookplate, with a special drawing, a quote and signature pasted to the inside.

The slipcased Charnel House edition of Where they are Hid by Tim Powers, which Tim later signed and doodled in.

The First Edition of the Sword of Shannara signed by Terry Brooks and dedicated to my youngest son.

I have a few but my favorite is a signed copy of Sword trilogy by Terry Brooks. I now collect just Mr. Brooks

I have very many signed, limited and rare books as this is my biggest hobby but my lettered edition of Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice published by Ultramarine Press is probably the rarest I own. The most lavish is Anubis Gates by Tim Powers published by Centipede Press. Other notables are The Gunslinger 1st personalized by King and signed and remarqued by Michael Whelan, 'Salem's Lot 1st personalized by King, Fevre Dream lettered edition by Subterranean Press, a very rare 1 of 8 A Game of Thrones dust jacket proof by Stephen Youll, signed by Stephen and GRRM.

Those are all really awesome everyone! It's cool to hear about other people's collections and prized items. Especially Shawns Wise Man's Fear and Rebeccas Game of Thrones dust jacket.

I really prize everything I've gotten from Shawns projects but two that I've gotten elsewhere that mean something to me is a personalized Trial of Intention from Peter Orullian and Gemini Cell from Myke Cole.

Well, this is very exciting - I've just had Double Feature by Owen King delivered from Amazon and it looks like it's been signed by him. It can go with my SK and Joe Hill signed books.

No publishing date. When it has one, I'm sure Pat will be posting it everywhere. It might even cripple the internet(s) for a time. :)

I have various signed first editions which is 25 years worth of collecting. 40% of my collection is signed. First off David Gemmell writing as Ross Harding- White Knight, Black Swan, this book was published in really limited numbers and extremely hard to get hold of. Also Legend Hardback Graphic novel limited to 100 copies, triple signed by Gemmell, Stan Nicholls and Fangorn.

All Abercrombie, Rothfuss, Lynch and Lawrence signed, some in limited editions. GRRM Feast for Crows signed in Manchester in 2005, sadly couldn't find GoT to get that signed so missed out.

I aslo have numbers 3- 9 of the subpress signed limited editions Dresden files. Erikson's Malazan numbers 1-6 signed limited editions by subterranean press.

I have two 1st ed. signed by him

I have a signed copy of Tarzan of the Apes, but my most prized is a signed copy of The Sword of Shannarah, Terry Brooks has always been my favorite author and who has inspired me more than any other.

My Nine Princes in Amber, an out of print edition, signed by Roger Zelazny literally less than two months before he died...

A signed, inscribed first edition hardback of The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley.

Signed, inscribed 5 first edition hardbacks of various novels by Octavia Butler. We had a running joke that whenever we met at conventions, she remembered me but not my name, and referenced it in the inscription.

Since it's the banner on the group page, I of course have to say, my signed Red Rising trilogy by Pierce Brown has a special place in my Earthborn heart. I also love my signed UK Red Rising because it was my first foreign edition hardcover. Those UK editions are rare now, which is a bummer, because dangit, those UK covers are so purty.

Aside from that, my signed Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy because, well, Douglas Adams.

I have some cool ones, including a copy of Slow Regard of Silent Things signed by Pat to Myke Cole because he accidentally misspelled my name. But my prize possession is an embossed, lettered copy of the poetry collection "Now We Are Sick", signed by every contributor - including Neil Gaiman, Alan Moore, Diane Wynne Jones, Robert Bloch, Clive Barker, Ramsey Campbell, Gene Wolfe and Terry Pratchett.

Douglas Adams signed Hitchhikers Omnibus Edition; Ricky Jay signed Cards as Weapons; Allan Ginsberg signed Howl; Robert Anton Wilson and Timothy Leary signed my Cosmic Trigger; Spalding Gray signed Monster in a Box... My best was getting Harlan Ellison to sign some porn he'd written early in his career under a pseudonym. (I've heard depending on his mood, he'd as easily tear it up as sign it.)

It's a toss up between my signed 1st printing of Game of Thrones and my signed 1st printing of Name of the Wind. Shawn, what is an "albino" Name of the Wind?

Unfettered, of course!

I have so many. All my Shannara and Landover books. Unfettered, Unbound, The Dark Thorn. My ARC of The Game of Thrones with a dust jacket signed by GRRM. Of course my Rothfuss books and all three Pierce Brown books.

I should also throw in my The Stand S/L (coffin box edition). It's one of the most beautiful books.

I have about 700 signed books but my favorite would be hard to declare . So I'll go with my top 5.

My parents passed in 1995. They collected King for years and had all 1st ed. I was greiving so much, I gave them all away. Wish I would of kept them.

Tough question! For me, it's a tie between Neal Stephenson's Seveneves and Madeleine Albright's Madam Secretary.

Donald L. Miller, hstorian wrote and signed his lastest book The Supreme City about the early days of New Yorj City. The books depth and details are extraordinary. The early days of Radio and the towns commerce are filled with historical figures. Like reading a biography of many different public figures the book explains how the city grew from its infancy

I highly recommend The Supreme City!

I have many signed and collectible books. However, my most prized not necessarily most expensive is: David Gemmell Legend Graphic novel- hardcover triple signed, numbered limited edition.

I have most of Brandon Sanderson books signed.

I have Terry Brooks, one Steven King, one Anne McCaffrey and Dune Books not the father's.

As a child, I treasured my autographed copy of Marguerite Henry's King of the Wind. Now I have a collection of personalized signed copies, mostly from my writer friends, but I am most proud of almost every hardcover edition of Octavia Butler's novels. She and I would chat at science fiction conventions.

An aside about letters. When I was a teen, crazy about writing, I wrote a letter to Andre Norton and her response was so kind and encouraging. She answered all my questions, although I'm sure it took time away from her writing. Now I do the same when young writers contact me, by way of "paying forward" the support I received.
