Bianca (biancamaartje) This thread is for those who like to read the classics: Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights etc.

Share your favorite and we can do a buddy-read or group read on your favourite book!

Bianca (biancamaartje) I loved Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë but I did not like The Picture of Dorian Grey by Oscar Wilde . I would like to read Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen , The Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky , or The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

Pride and Prejudice >.< I'm a huge fan of it. I just watched the 2005 movie . . . I love Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth.

Cheyenne I haven't much ventured into the classics yet. Though I will say that there is a lot of them free for kindle on Amazon, including The Idiot.

Bianca (biancamaartje) Cheyenne: there is a website (http://www.gutenbergproject.org) where you can download almost all of the classics for free. The copyright of most of them have expired so they are available to all!

message 6: by Cheyenne (new)

Cheyenne I've been to the website before. Thank you though!!

Jess G (rattlethewalls) I love classics! I've read almost everything by Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters plus a ton of other Classic authors. I love anything by Austen.

Bianca (biancamaartje) I totally agree. I got Frankenstein today at a Book Attic. Place was fantastic, the idea is that all books are free and when you're done with them you trade them in or donate other books. This way everybody can read! I got 9 books... XD

Jess G (rattlethewalls) That sounds like a great place to be, I wish I had something like that nearby. Has anyone ever tried paperbackswap.com? I love trading books I don't really want for books that I do. Also, if you like Austen have you seen any media adaptations? I love most of the films but have you tried the Lizzie Bennet Diaries webseries on youtube? It's addicting.

Jae | 139 comments I love the Classics too ... one of my favorites is: The Scarlet Pimpernel. They don't even know who wrote the book. Its set during the revolutionary war in France. The Scarlet Pimpernel helps the aristocrats escape. Plus its a love story w/ a twist. Has everything.
