Matthew (matthewsylvester) | 12 comments Which version do you prefer? I'm more of a sci-fi fan, but will be writing a fantasy shortly as an exercise in stepping out of my usual area of 'expertise'. However, the market seems to be dominated by Fantasy.

GaiusPrimus I think either are good, if done properly, following the "levelling and item" setup, which lends itself to the fantasy side of things.

More like the Phantom Server books vs. the Perimeter Defence ones, to steal an example from the repertoire of MD Books.

I think we'll see much more litrpg variations soon. steampunk/litrpg, horror/litrpg. litrpg detective. All sound challenging :)

Matthew (matthewsylvester) | 12 comments Steampunk would be good :) I've got a steampunk novel with Baen right now and love the genre :)

Maybe even romantic litrpg? Romeo and Juliette story, he plays WoW, she plays Eve online... Their parents and families only played those games - so they just can't have this new quest together. Or can they? :)
