Shail Pokharel Eric Greitens wanted to impact society. To try and make a difference in the world he travelled to a lot of places where people were not as privileged as him. When he helped others he felt like the damage had been done, and he was helping the ones who were damaged so he wanted to step into action. He joined the Navy. The story is a struggle between Eric trying to become powerful by joining the navy to then be good but then figuring out you need to be good to be powerful. The Heart and the fist.

This book is more inspiring the condemning. The author gives the reader that fire in the heart and gets them pumped up to do some good. The author will make you a little more humanitarian to say the least. It really pushes on unity, the author said “Alone, human beings can feel hunger. Alone, we can feel cold. Alone, we can feel pain. To feel poor, however, is something we do only in comparison to others.” Another inspiring thing he said was “Life is short. Life is uncertain. But we know that we have today. And we have each other. I believe that for each of us, there is a place on the frontlines.” These are things everybody knows but we need reminders from people like Eric to keep on moving and work together. This book will be most appealing to young humanitarians, people who want to follow a true story, and people who need a change in mindset.
