Lanelle | 462 comments Each month we will read a public domain book in a certain genre, about a particular subject, or by an specific author. Report which book or story you've decided to read. Feel free to discuss what you're reading and the author's writing style. Don't forget to leave a review of your selected work.

This month's theme has been suggested by one of our members. Thank you, Sawako.

Read a book that is part of a series. Have you started a series that you need to continue? Now's your chance to read the next book.

You are welcome! ^_^

I want to read Anne of Green Gables series. I read the first book last month. I will listen to its audiobooks on Librivox while I am reading them.

I am already familiar with the plot as I read its manga (Japanese comics) version of the book. I also found out that there is a Japanese anime version of it.

Lanelle | 462 comments I have read books 2 and 3 of the Associated Shades series by John Kendrick Bangs. Now's a good time to finally read the first in the series, A House-Boat on the Styx.

I have finished reading the second book of Anne of Green Gables. And I am so excited to start the third book. Karen Savage is an awesome reader.

Lanelle | 462 comments I finished reading Ruth Fielding and the Gypsies Or, The Missing Pearl Necklace (number 8 in the series) yesterday. Ruth is in high school, so I imagine that this series of books would be considered Young Adult.

To me, Ruth is a combination of Nancy Drew and Anne Shirley. She is an orphan who is sent to live with her miserly, grumpy uncle and then finds mysteries or situations that need solving.

I've enjoyed the books I've read so far. As for this particular story, the ending is very rushed, but good.

It sounds interesting! I will add Ruth Fielding series to my TBR list. Thanks for the recommendation.

I was hoping that you would notice that I compared Ruth Fielding to Anne Shirley :)

Yes, I did! That's why I am so excited to read it because I love mystery. Since you compared her to Nancy Drew and Anne Shirley. :)
