However I, personally, think Dimitri's movie character is slightly better than all the others--especially "Rose". And oh the horrible acting..*shudders*

Ahemmm
I think we need to keep in mind that there is a lot to cram into the first movie. Same with the 1st book.
A lot of information is given, and you dont really, properly, understand the whole vampire world till after Frostbite.
The movie was okay I think. It wasnt horrible, but it didnt live up to the book either. But hey, they didnt leave out any major things, and since so much happened in the first book, Im surprised they even fit it all into the 1st movie.
Now. The cast.
*does this thing with arms, face and body to express disgust*
I think...ahhhh...no words, I agree with Naban.
Rose was okay. A bit less curvy that Id imagined from the books, and a bit more...I dont know, childish? But I think I can work with her, given time.
Dimitri...I imagined Ben Barnes man! I picked up the series to read again, and I only see Ben Barnes in my thoughts portraying Dimitri. sigh
Is it just me, or did the actress playing Lissa look like she had a stuffed mouth throughout the movie?
And the headmistress.....*shudders*
I think one thing that they didnt do enough of was to advertise the movie.
Yes, it wasnt that amazing, but remember Twilight? How monkey-poop-bad it was but with all that advertisement that went on the internet (and Im looking specifically at fb) that made everyone, even non-book-lovers to know about it?
I dont think they got enough profit from VA and we might not even see Frostbite cause of that...and honestly...even though the movie was meh, I wouldnt think twice about going to see the rest of the VA movies.
Sorry for the long essay. I saw the movie 2 days ago and just need to vent out a bit. Again, Sorry!! :O

Overrall the movie was okay but with the quality of the book I expected better cast.
Yeah I read that frosbite is a "maybe" because the lack of profit and reaction over it.
I just wanted to ask it it just me or does the movie:
(1) cheapen the novel: the quality of the movie is seriously lacking compared to the book
(2) without having read the novel, the movie seems too messy
(3) the characters of what I had imagined when reading the book are not how they portrayed in the movie (looks and personality)
As a summary, the books is definitely better than the movie. Thoughts?
