Jazz | 21 comments I'm a first-time climber and have no idea how to do this except I have all my climbing gear (yes, thousands of books!). I will try for 48 books in 2017 on my climb, because I do occasionally like to read a library book which won't count. I have no blog or website so will try to do this through Goodreads. I'm a big fan of your reviews, Bev!

Welcome, Jazz! You've got your climb folder up--so you're set. Just come back here whenever you are ready to update us on how you're doing. Good luck with Mt Ararat! And thanks for your kind words about my reviews.

Jazz | 21 comments I would love to be at the top of Mt. Ararat right now, or even falling off the ascent of Kilimanjaro right now, but here I am. Thank God for my mystery books which always keep me warm when I fall through a crack in the ice. My books are my salvation.

Yes, thank God for books. Especially this week.

Jazz | 21 comments I think I'm somewhat missing the point of this challenge. In the last weeks of 2016, I find myself snapping up book bargains everywhere and only adding to my TBR mountains!!! LOL. I will have to store some books in that ark on Mt. Ararat when I pass it on my ascent. :)

Hi Catherine! I see you like mysteries also. I will follow your reviews. Good luck on your climb also! You're tackling a higher peak!

Catherine | 126 comments I am going to try! I made Kilimanjaro this year (barely) so I'm going for it again.

Jazz | 21 comments As June begins, I'm a little behind the other climbers on Mt. Ararat, but now that nicer weather has arrived, I'm going for the peak. I've left these books behind me to find my way back down. LOL.

Jazz | 21 comments As September nears, I've gained some momentum, and I'm two-thirds of the way up to the peak of Mt. Ararat. I'm leaving a trail of 33 books behind me in order to find my way back down after I summit by December 31.

Kate | 26 comments I love the Mr. Mosely series -- I own them all. Also the Martha Grimes Inspector Jury series -- own them too. Have loved Catherine Aird for years, & am working on owning all of those too!

Enjoy them -- I know you will! And tell me how you like Artifacts -- I don't have the whole series yet so I haven't read that one, it's still TBR.

I very much enjoyed Artifacts, Kate! I've collected almost all in that series but have only read the first. Took me a long time to start reading Martha Grimes, but I love her series, too. I have so many books (and series) that it's crazy. But once I find an author I like, I feel I have to own all their books. LOL. Thanks for your comment.

Good to know, although with a title like that, any archaeologist would love the book (& the series.) Maybe I'll have to get them from the library, but then the 700+ in the TBR stack would just languish, wouldn't they?

I have no background in archaeology, Kate, but I'm drawn to mysteries about it for some reason. My background is art and I often find fault with those, so maybe my lack of knowledge of archaeology isn't helpful here in judging. But I did enjoy the first book as a mystery and hope I enjoy the others as much.

Nell Jazz

I learned how to post pictures for the TBR challenge a couple of years ago.

You can search on either Google or Bing for an image. Type in what you're looking for. Pick the picture you want to post and click to copy the image address. The (some html is ok) at the top of GR's comment box includes how to post images. Substitute the image address for the GR site in the example. You can adjust height and width to the size you want. It took a few tries to get the " " and < in the right places but it was fun to do.

Thanks, Nell. I will copy your advice and save it for the future.

Jazz | 21 comments With only two months to go to reach the summit, I confess it's been slow going lately. Perhaps the air is too thin at this height, and I need oxygen. I worry now I won't reach the top in time. If I can catch my breath, perhaps I can still make it to the summit by New Year's Eve.
