10.7. Rollin on the River
Stories say that the city of Ninevah had a terraced garden system where the majority of its food was grown. The Tigris river ran through the center of the city; a person travelling up the river would see these terraced gardens and the water which was pumped up to them from the river in what was supposed to be a magical system which made it look like the water was flowing uphill!
So -- read a book with "environment," "ecology," "engineering," or "food" as a main page genre . The genre can be embedded as in "Food and Drink>Food."

Pia Will any of these books work? They're shelved as food and Drink>Cookbooks, but they refer to the Donna Leon Brunetti series

Brunetti's Cookbook by Roberta Pianaro

A Taste of Venice At Table with Brunetti by Donna Leon

Nick (doily) | 3392 comments Thanks Sandy, for using my suggestion!

But I made a faux pas. According to the maps, Ninevah was on the Tigris, not the Euphrates.

My mistake!

Ah, well, we're not going to have to take a history or geography test - it's all good! But I'll change the name of the river the next time I'm signed in under the right name.

genre food is there, but you'll need to get it approved in the ebook thread, since there doesn't appear to be a paper edition.
