20.2 LGBT Read a book by an LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) author. Only authors on this list will be accepted for this task. Help us grow the list by posting qualifying links in the help thread.
20.3 Illumination and Night Glare: The Unfinished Autobiography of Carson McCullers Read an author's autobiography. Autobiographies and memoirs will both be accepted for this task, but the subject must have authored other works to qualify.
20.4 Member of the Wedding Read one of the top 250 books inlcuded on the list of Best Southern Literature.
20.5 Wunderkind McCullers studied for years as a concert pianist, practicing five hours a day. The Ballad of the Sad Café and Other Stories includes McCullers first published work Wunderkind, a story about a musical prodigy. Read any work that features music or musicians. (Music or specific musician must play an important enough role in the story to warrant a mention in the book's summary on GoodReads.)

20.7 Retellings Gabriel's Task
Inspired by my reading of Hag-Seed, read a retelling of a classic tale (be it Shakespeare or otherwise). To qualify, the book must have been shelved as a "retelling" by at least 20 users.

20.8 Shirley Jackson Amanda's Task Shirley Jackson's birthday was December 14, 1917. In honor of her 100th birth anniversary and a tribute to her The Lottery and Other Stories, read a book in which the title contains the phrase "and other stories".
20.9 Reading Resolutions Kate S's TaskRead any book written by a female author included on both the Boxall's 1001 books to read before you die and the Guardian's 1000 books to read. Here is the list of authors on both.

10.5 Darwin Darwin Day celebrates the birth of Charles Darwin. Read a book with the DDC classification in the 500s at BPL.
10.6 Obscure Awards Read any book that has won a literature award, other than:

Man Booker
Edgar Award
Hugo Award
National Book Critics Circle
Bram Stoker Award
Books which have won, or been nominated, long-listed, short-listed, etc for the above awards will not qualify for this task.
10.7 New Year's Day Rosemary's Task Read a book with the name of a month or a day of the week in the title (e.g. June or Monday).
10.8 For the Birds! Karen Michele's Task Celebrate our feathered friends by reading a book about birds. The book can be fiction or nonfiction and can be about real birds or birds of magic or fantasy (phoenix, griffin).
