Ugh...sick all day yesterday and while I do feel better today, I'm still running a low grade fever of 100.8. I'm hoping I'll be able to read today because yesterday all I did was sleep!!

Sierra - (view spoiler)[I love her character, she's funny and smart. However I don't really think it's so smart to be really close to a guy who supposedly pulled a knife on his sister. Yes, there obviously is a mix up and there's a reason why but still, why agree to being alone with a guy who might be dangerous? I just think she should have been a little more cautious. Caleb - (view spoiler)[seems so sweet. I want to know his whole story about the rumor though. And the trees for the families!! My heart! (hide spoiler)]

Friends & Parents - (view spoiler)[I love Sierra's friends, they all seem so alike and I think of how great it would be if all 4 of them were best friends and not just the two on one side and Heather by herself. I really like Sierra's parents, but I think once they find out about Caleb's "past" there might be a lot of arguing.. (hide spoiler)]

I started reading last night and I pretty much have not put the book down. I'm in chapter 12 which is almost halfway through. The reading goes so quick and its just such an easy, charming book. I'll follow Trinity's lead character-wise....

Sierra - (view spoiler)[ Sierra to me is a pretty average girl with a good head on her shoulders. She isn't the most stand-out character I've ever read but she is funny enough and independent enough to where I like her. Plus she keeps an open mind about people and is a good friend and daughter and I can dig that. She's not a spoiled brat and shows concern for her parents and friends so good for her. (hide spoiler)]

Caleb - (view spoiler)[ Dimples and a little bit shy, even though he's oh-so-hot...I like it! And the guy is definitely carrying around baggage. I mean, there are rumors about him supposedly knifing his sister, but the friends are right...that was a while ago supposedly, and he would have been punished or would be in a prison or some other place for it, and just from how he acts, he is clearly not an aggressive, angry person. So I think there is something to be said for that. Hopefully the truth comes out soon and in an ok way. Clearly he is now doing good deeds as well and has a good heart so lets give some brownie points. It doesn't get much sweeter than using all of your tip money to give free Christmas trees to people who can't afford them. (hide spoiler)]

Friends & Parents - (view spoiler)[ We don't see/hear too much about Sierra's parents other than her dad making all the ball players/workers clean the outhouses if they so much as look at Sierra. That is pretty funny, if excessive. Also hypocritical since its how he and his wife met. Oh well. Mom is nice in as far as we know. Heather is a bit obsessive and bossy toward her boyfriend whom she wants to break up...I don't really dig that. But with Sierra they are pretty typical, fun best friends. Once she loosens up around Caleb (aka "Tree boy") she is pretty funny, even though still very concerned about the rumors of his past. I think Sierra's friends from back home are the most sensible about the Caleb rumors. They are great too. (hide spoiler)]

Can't wait to keep reading the book. I'm really liking it so far. I've always loved picking out our live Christmas tree!

This might be her last year - at least let her make a friend. I can't imagine thinking my 17 year old wouldn't want to find someone to date, or even get to know better while gone from school and friends for a month. (hide spoiler)]

Caleb(view spoiler)[ obviously there is something more to the story but I'm with you, Trinity. She should be more careful. her friends were right - she's really picky. And sure, he's doing a good thing for this one season - but that doesn't mean she shouldn't be cautious. She shouldn't be alone with him until she knows more (hide spoiler)]

Andrew(view spoiler)[ I really don't like him. he seems to think he has some claim on her. Are guys not asking her about because of her dad or because of him?? He seems rather possessive for just being a sticky note guy (hide spoiler)]
