What is your guess for the final 4 words?

message 2: by deb (new)

deb (dhufflebee) I think they will be "I love you Rory/mom/too", depending on who says them and in which occasion.
Ending the show like this seems only right :)

message 5: by Antonia (new)

Antonia I just finished watching these 4 episodes. I need your thoughts about the ending!! I am shocked ....

message 6: by deb (new)

deb (dhufflebee) Honestly, my 4 words after the revival are "boy, am I sad". I liked many things, but overall it could have been much better. Got lots of hopes crushed...
It was nice coming back, but I didn't ecpect it to be like this.

(Sorry about the rant)

message 7: by Antonia (new)

Antonia I agree. And I really hoped it would end differently :(

Samantha Hayes | 68 comments I think the last 4 words leave way for another season :) It would bring too cruel to end it like that completely lol

Lorelai and Rory were at Luke's having some silly conversation about a hat the Lorelai got Rory that said "World's greatest reporter" and Rory didn't bring. I think the last clear line is something like "I guess they'll just have to read you're writing" something along those lines.

But in the scene before when they're leaving their house Rory says "Mom, you've given me everything I need" and I think that was much better than what we got in the revival.

I didn't hate the revival, like many seem to. It was fun, but with flaws. Not enough Luke and Lorelai. Not enough Rory and Lorelai. Too much musical. And I could go on, but my biggest disappointment was the last 4 words. I thought those would be them, but then I thought 'No, because Rory isn't going to end up with anyone. So it must be something else." Nope, those were the words and Rory is alone. It's just disappointing and seems so out of character and kind of against everything Lorelai has worked to get for Rory.

Charlene | 11 comments I enjoyed the revival even though it was flawed. I wasn't expecting much just a good time getting reacquainted with the Gilmore Girls and Stars Hallow. Rory at 32 has stepped in her mother's shoes but will walk a different path. Logan may be Rory's Christopher which explains why she was looking for insight from her father's perspective. Jess is Rory's Luke. Jess inspires her and adores her.

I like to think that Rory has more options because she is formally educated and much older than her mother when she got pregnant. As a parent we hope that our children do better than we did. Rory did just that. She excelled in high school and college. Lived a life traveling and writing before getting pregnant. How she got pregnant wasn't ideal but that is life.

I love that Jess is Rory's Luke <3 I've always loved Jess and I loved his development. That was a big highlight for me. Of course I wish they could have had more screen time together, but I'll take what I can get.

Rory will have an easier time than Lorelai did. She's older, educated, and has a good support system. My problem is more in the way she got pregnant. She's 32 and well educated, and she still can't manage to use birth control when she's having an affair with her engaged ex. It's just so disappointing that's the way it went down. Lorelai worked so hard to give Rory so many advantages and stop her from making similar mistakes. And now Rory's going to be a single mom, at least for awhile.

I think they'll make more too :)

Kim. E. I was so careful not to touch anything anywhere that would spoil the revival, and especially those infamous last 4 words that the originator didn't get to end the series with. That was not how I expected it to end. Hopefully there will be another season.

Overall I liked what I saw. It was built up sooooooo much that I don't think they had a chance to live up to the expectations of the fans.

Very nostalgic to me, as though they were determined to press in every possible reference and moment to entire original show in 4 episodes. There were some emotional times for me, but I agree they didn't need to make the musical last so long, even though it had a message to send. I'd be happier if more screen time between all the major characters.

I agree. I mean, sure, everybody had high expectations but I'd definitely hoped for a different outcome.

I kinda liked the last 4 words though ;)

I agree about the musical! I think just seeing a shot of one or two of the songs for a few seconds and then cut to Lorelai's face to show her reaction but that's it, it took up about 15 minutes! I ended up skipping past two whole songs.
As for the 4 words from the original series, I can't remember them but I do know that the director Amy Sherman-Palladino, didn't direct the final series of the original series and wanted the last four words to be used then, she had them planned outfor ages apparently but didn't tell anyone. She then directed the revival and used them then. So they should have been the last four from the revival but they weren't.
