Lacey | 1 comments Pao by Kerry Young is good, it is set in the mid 20th century Jamaica and centres mainly around a Chinese Jamaican immigrant family. A brilliant read and highly recommendable

William Taylor (hallibfan) | 6 comments The story of Toussaint L'Ouverture and the San Domingo Revolution is a fascinating tale as is the building of his mountain redoubt and his final end in a tub of quick lime. I first read of it as a youngster in "Richard Halliburton's Book of Marvels - the Occident" It is a colorful tale of adventure, mis-adventure and violence I will never forget.
