Sandy | 458 comments I'm excited to get back to normal and start reading with the group again. I'm definitely going to participate. I've had some problems with ill elderly parents. I hope to be back to reading soon. Thank you to the Moderators who do all of the work keeping this group going!

message 15: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Thanks Paul. Here we go.

message 16: by Sara (new)

Sara Britton (lurcher) | 7 comments I went to the library and may have got a bit excited by a book by an author with a "z" surname

message 17: by [deleted user] (new)

I do love the Book Viper challenges. 2016 was a tough year for me and by the end i gave up on all my reading challenges and focussed on just reading what I fancied.

So, instead of over committing im going in for 14 books (2 rows) as a starting point and may do more.

message 18: by Tea (new)

Tea (prettylives) | 3 comments I'm committing to 7 (1 row) I'm determined to not buy any more books so these are books that are on my kindle (I may add more if I look at my physical books).

message 19: by Sara (new)

Sara Britton (lurcher) | 7 comments I think this will be good for me as it will make me read different authors and maybe different genres too

message 20: by Paul (new)

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod
That is the intention Sara. Don't feel you have to do all 26 either

message 21: by Patricia (new)

Patricia | 199 comments 'B'ook 'B'uster. For me, this challenge could have been "Read all the books you currently own with author names beginning with the letter B". That would have been plenty!

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod
About a third of the way through Adventures in Stationery: A Journey Through Your Pencil Case for my W. Interesting so far.

message 23: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Go on then. X and Z are left. I don't want to do Emile Zola as I had nightmares for a long time after Therese Racquin years ago. Help.

message 24: by Paul (new)

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod
I am going to be reading Malcom X for my X and Dominic Ziegler for Z

message 25: by Pamela (new)

Pamela (bibliohound) | 359 comments I read Sky Burial: An Epic Love Story of Tibet by Xinran for X, it's fairly short and quite readable. For Z, a book by Anne Zouroudi, haven't read any by her yet but understand these are mysteries set in Greece.

message 26: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Thanks both. Will look to see if any in my library.

message 27: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Have ordered a Zouroundi from my library plus a Xinran, although not the one you suggested as not in Cornwall. Thank you.

message 28: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Or even zouroudi

Good to hear you found some, Pat. Hope you enjoy them.

message 31: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca | 161 comments I'm reading China Witness by Xinran for my X.

message 32: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Hope you give it 5 stars when you read it. Too tired and old for it I think.

message 33: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments So busy reading that I didn't realise I finished the challenge, about 3 books ago. I never finish challenges so was probably so amazed I forgot. Next challenge is books recommended by Jason. After the numbers challenge of course.

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod

It just seems to have gone very quiet in here

message 41: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments I'm struggling, I'm doing non fiction books but keep selecting authors beginning with L. Can you add more L's to the board?

message 42: by Pat (new)

Pat Morris-jones | 1373 comments Yes please Paul.

message 43: by Paul (new)

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod
There is a free space from another L Jason. What are you struggling with? I am sure I could find some

message 44: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments I think I've read enough to make it across, just trying to read as many different ones as possible, see how many different routes I can make.

message 45: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments Had a look and if I read Between the Sunset and the Sea: A View of 16 British Mountains which I have on my Kindle I will have finished this challenge.

I have three to read to do all 26. And that is a good book too

message 47: by Jason (new)

Jason (jasondenness) | 1877 comments I'm not gonna make all 26. I got 6 books sat next to me to read and none of them are gonna help :-)

message 48: by Paul (new)

Paul (halfmanhalfbook) | 5463 comments Mod
Oh that's a shame J

message 49: by Jazzy (new)

Jazzy Lemon (jazzylemon) | 274 comments I would have liked the opportunity to join some of these challenges without having to put the numbers in. I go through periods where I read voraciously and others where I don't read for months and months. All dependent on my health (physical and mental) and the amount of work I have on. January will be a great time for a book club because it's lonely and nothing is going on, so hope we will all have a great book lined up. I like to be a part of something and see what everyone else is doing but don't want to set myself up for failure. I've copied out the Blockbuster list and put in all the books I've read start to finish this year, not very many, but there you go. There is the possibility of completing a line though, dependent on the last names of the authors of the books I've yet to read. :)

message 50: by Karen (new)

Karen Mace | 17 comments 3 books left for me to complete this challenge!! ☺
