I have seen the preview for this movie a few times, and finally check to see if it was a book first...and it is!!! WOOHOO!!

So, it has a new title, but the movie Edge of Tomorrow is based off of All You Need is Kill. The movies looks really good(I will post a trailer on the home page soon) so I will for sure be checking out this movie and book!!

Sam | 606 comments really interested in hearing if you like the book. Sometimes I just can't read a lot of action as I get a little lost. whether it has just been past authors who lost me or just too much happening I can't tell you. so let us know if it’s a good read for sure.

The only thing stopping me from seeing this in theatres is Tom Cruise. I'm just not that big a fan of his. if it was someone else I more than likely would have gone... *shrug*

Sam | 606 comments Doug Liman is the Director... hmmm well maybe. tho I didn't like Mr & Mrs Smith all that much he did do the Bourne Identity... we will see. Still think I will wait for DVD.

I have not made it to see this movie yet(hopefully this weekend) but the book was AWESOME!! There was a lot fo swearing that I did not find necessary, but it was great overall! I for sure loved it and sped through it super fast!

I am also not a big Tom Cruise fan, but my friend worked with him on Jack Reacher and said he was a super hard working and was just an incredible actor as far as all he was doing on the movie and just going for it...so that helped me have a lot more respect for him....

Sam | 606 comments oh I dont doubt any actor who has been in the industry as long as he has and been as successful isn't a hard worker. its not so much respect but just the way he comes across on screen... idk like i dont believe he is the character. or i dont see the character I just see him, Tom Cruise. He has done some great movies where I have been immersed in it and not "seen him" like 'War of the Worlds' 'Jerry Maguire' or 'Cocktails'... I can go on but others like 'The Last Samurai' 'eyes wide shut'... just not the best work. maybe its the genre of the film or the script. maybe a combination of everything.

It will probably come out on DVD and I will love it! who knows haha

I agree for sure! He is not my favorite by any means!! Although War of the Worlds was great! He is just a weird person to me.... I don't know... There are a lot of actors I just DON'T LIKE and don't really have a reason...I just don't get them or something? But hearing my friend talk about him make me like him a little more, still not much....haha

I am going tomorrow to see Edge of Tomorrow with my friends! Cannot wait!!!!

Just got home from the movie and can I have to say this is for sure one of my favorite all time movies!!! Sure, they changed a LOT of things from the book....but I think that was a good thing. The concept of the book was great, but the ending was really hard to swallow, there was very limited into about certain things and the concept was a little weak on how to "win". The movie however was WONDERFUL! There was a lot of emotion that goes with battles, there were some hilarious moments, and there was some sweet action done with fabulous CGI. I am already looking forward to seeing this again, although since I also saw How to Train Your Dragon 2 in theaters today, I don't think I will be making it to see it on the big screen again at least until the next time I get paid! haha

Sam | 606 comments Wow great review! My friend wants to see this with me and I told her my hang ups about it but she said she would pay for me to see it with her. I think after ur review I shall go and see it :D but won't let my friend pay for me haha I just couldn't let her.

I think you will for sure enjoy it! If you have the chance to read the book first it would be good, but not totally needed since they changed a good bit. Again though, they kept the main idea and the emotions all that, so the changes work to make it more of a full story with an ending that was acceptable and all that....

Sam | 606 comments So I went to see it last night... it was amazing! so glad I saw this in the cinemas!! Great special effects and the overall telling of the story well done. I thought I would get frustrated with the 'ground hog' i.e. replaying aspect of the same day but they handled it well. I was laughing at a few of Cage's (Tom Cruise) demise and had more respect for the film as how he started out a weasel of a guy. loved the ending!!

YAY!! So glad you liked it! But really...how could you not?!?! haha I love love love love everything about this movie for sure!! The ending in the book was not that great, kind of left me feeling annoying and everything. But the movie ending had me in tears!!! They made the movie a lot more about their relationship than they did in the book. Partly since the book was really short! Man....now I really want to re-read the book and see the movie again! It is one I will be watching over and over and over for sure!!!!!

Oh, and his character growth in the movie is GREAT! The book there is not too much of that, and there were not really any funny parts in the book either. I loved his one "re-set" during the pushups! The whole theater was cracking up!!!! Also his running ahead and hiding the cards and all that were just great moments to break up the constant fighting and re-set stuff. I pretty much just love EVERYTHING about this movie...can you tell!??! ;)

Sam | 606 comments haha I loved the 'pushups' scene! more the reaction of Master Sergeant Farell when it happened!

Haha! Yup! Man, I really can't wait to see this movie over and over again! It was just perfect!!

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 458 comments I enjoyed it! My mom's a life long Tom Cruise fan. I like him too but when he gets on his cuckoo moments, eh.

I am a fan of Emily Blunt though. She's fantastic!

Had no idea this was a book! What a trip that would be! I found the movie surprisingly fun to watch, and would recommend it to a few people I know.

The book is great!! However...this is one I liked the movie a lot more than the book! I bought the DVD and have watched the movie at least 5 times now, and actually love the book a lot too though so plan to read it again soon. It was a fast and crazy read, but again the movie added a lot more so it was better in my mind. A more complete story with an ending that was much better in my opinion!
