1. Significant other? Children? Pets? Married 32 years to husband Al. 4 grown boys. 4 biological grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren. 1 very old dog who is part Bernese Mountain Dog. We don't know the other part. 3 cats. All are rescues. 3 from the Humane Society and 1 I found on the street. All are terribly spoiled.

2. What do you do for a living? I am a nurse, LPN.

3. What is your favorite color? sky blue or olive green.

4. What destination would be your dream vacation? In the US I would love to go to Branson, Missouri again. Love country music. I like all kinds of music but country is my favorite. Outside the US, I'd love to see Australia.

5. What is your favorite book genre? Nonfiction. I have a Biography, Autobiography, Memoir group here on Goodreads. All are welcome to join.
https://www.goodreads.com/group/show/...
I also like True Crime.

6. Who are three of your favorite authors? Rick Bragg, Frank McCourt, Gregg Olsen

7. What's your favorite word? I don't thing I'm allowed to say it here. Apparently, according to a friend it has to do with a lower body part. She thinks I say it a lot. It starts with an A.

8. What actress/actor should play you in a film of your life story? Kathy Bates. About my age and body structure.

9. Will you tell us a funny or favorite story about yourself? I'm sure there are many. My kids could remember them better than I could. OK, I don't remember my favorite story because I was 2 years old but my mother told me about it. We lived on a farm and when I was 2 years old my mother couldn't find me. She was getting frantic and went out to the field where my dad was plowing and asked him to come in from the field to help search. They finally found me in the chicken coup playing with the baby chicks. So as you see, my love of animals started at an early age.

10. What are your hobbies? Reading (of course), garage sales (looking for books), gardening, crossword puzzles, bicycling and walking.

11. Where is your favorite place to read? Outside on my front porch.

12. What is your favorite sport to watch or play? Twins baseball.

13. What was your favorite subject in school? English, grammar. I think I was the only one that loved diagramming sentences.

14. How are you creative? I'm not very creative but I like decorating and organizing. I like to bake but don't do it a lot because I end up eating what I make!

15. What is your favorite sandwich? Grilled cheese.

16. What do you think is your very best feature or characteristic? My sense of humor, which is a bit warped and sarcastic and sometimes get me into trouble.

17. If you could throw any kind of party, what would it be like and what would it be for? A bonfire in my yard or by a lake with wine and beer and good conversation.

18. If you could paint a picture of anything, what would you paint? Birds, cats, dogs. I love animals and birds.

19. If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet? Martin Luther King, Jr. I would love to get his perspective on how race relations have changed since his time and the turmoil going on today.

20. What’s your favorite comfort food? Melted cheese on anything.

BONUS Tell us three things about yourself not covered in these questions.
1. I went to nursing school in my 40's. I was the 3rd oldest in my class. It was a trial called distance learning and designed for students that had families and worked. We took the slow route and took 3 years to do a normally 1 year course.
2. I love true crime and my grandchildren are starting to worry about me because I talk about serial killers too much.
3. I've lived in the same town all my life except for brief excursions away but always came back. For 20 years I worked in a nursing home across the street from where I was born so I like to say I've never gone far in life. I live next door to a cemetery and know half the people there. I always tell people the neighbors are quiet.

Oh, and if I can add one more, people say I talk a lot. Can you tell????

Hmmm. Maybe I should move to Wisconsin!

My nephew used to live in Wisconsin. He had a cheese fountain at his wedding reception and fried bacon in an electric skillet. Apparently in Wisconsin you have to have bacon with your beer.

Bacon with anything is good! My grocery store butcher counter sells bacon by the slice. Great for me and my hubby. We don't need a pound of bacon in the house. If we have a hankering for BLT's (about twice a year), I just go buy 4 slices of bacon....

That's a great idea. Since having an empty nest I never have learned to cook for two. I like cooking more than one meal at a time and having leftovers.
