Hi Pat,

I'm posting on behalf PNJ who's just joined us for Bookopoly. Due to some health issues (3 strokes), I'm helping her out in posting requests etc. She's landed on Schroeder, please pick 3 books from PNJ's shelf. She's still got to fine tune her shelf...

And as she finds it hard to navigate through the threads, please do visit her thread to say hello! :D

message 21: by ♞ Pat (new)

♞ Pat Gent | 41 comments Hi, PNJ. I've picked you three books from your shelf for your visit to Schroeder's Place.

I've posted them here and on your thread as well.

All the Light We Cannot See
Night
and
In the Mind of Revenge

Hope one of them is what you've been waiting for!

Hey, Pat A Court of Mist and Fury has been picked a few times now, so I'm taking that as sign. So, I'm going with that.

Hi Angela. Happy to help you! Try one of these, and let me know how it was. They're all 3 on my TBR list as well!

Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi
Milk and Honey (Peter Decker/Rina Lazarus, #3) by Faye Kellerman
Rules of Prey (Lucas Davenport, #1) by John Sandford

message 26: by Angela (new)

Angela | 226 comments Thanks! I think I'll go with Rules of Prey.

Nancy (nancyhelen) | 37 comments Hi Pat - could you choose three books for me please?

My shelf is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

message 28: by ♞ Pat (new)

♞ Pat Gent | 41 comments Hi NancyHelen! It's nice to see you!

I've read a few books from your shelf that I can recommend...

Let's start with these and if you don't like them - well, you're always free to pick something else!

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah was the best book I read in 2015.
The Help by Kathryn Stockett ~ I saw the movie first. The book is better!
and
The Omnivore's Dilemma A Natural History of Four Meals by Michael Pollan ~ if you need a non-fiction read for any reason, this one is a good pick. It was fascinating.

message 29: by Nancy (new)

Nancy (nancyhelen) | 37 comments Tough choice! But seeing as I am perhaps the only person on GR who hasn't read The Help, I think I'll go for that one.

message 31: by ♞ Pat (new)

♞ Pat Gent | 41 comments Hey, M. Happy to help you out here.

Being a Beast Adventures Across the Species Divide by Charles Foster
Lily and the Octopus by Steven Rowley
and
At the Water's Edge by Sara Gruen

I've read all three of these, and thought they were all good for different reasons. Hopefully, you'll find one of them worth the time. :-)

message 32: by Marie (UK) (new)

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 601 comments I will try Being a Beast: Adventures Across the Species Divide

I have let Lily and the Octopus run our on my overdrive and am now 2nd on the list and i have been waiting for the other from library for ages

That's a pretty short shelf! LOL

Here's my picks from it.

Against The Spread (Anna Dawson's Vegas, #2) by Mara Jacobs Unlawful Contact (I-Team, #3) by Pamela Clare or Perfectly Imperfect by Harper Sloan

Hope one of them is good!

Oh gosh! I figured it take you longer. I added all my Feb picks right after I hit post. No biggie... those are still on the list :-P I'll pick Perfectly Imperfect as it works for the Race over in AMMP.

Thanks!!!

message 36: by Amy (new)

Amy | 2241 comments Hi Pat! Looks like I've landed on another of your squares. Can you choose three for me from Amy's bookopoly shelf?

Please note that I am still deciding on one from the three you've chosen for me on your other square. They are
The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper
Ink and Ashes
How to Breathe Underwater

If you could skip those while making your choices, I'd appreciate it.

message 37: by ♞ Pat (new)

♞ Pat Gent | 41 comments Lucky you, getting to visit me twice this week!

I'm gonna make it simple for you... these are the three shortest books on your shelf. Grab one of them and see if you can get on around the board!

By the Time You Read This, I'll Be Dead by Julie Anne Peters
Haunted (David Ash, #1) by James Herbert
and
How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind Dealing with Your House's Dirty Little Secrets by Dana K. White ~ (I just finished this one. It's a fast, funny little read)

Thanks so much, Pat. How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind: Dealing with Your House's Dirty Little Secrets is waiting for me at the library, so I'll go with that. Unless Arthur Pepper shows up overnight, I'll likely grab Ink and Ashes for the other square.

Ghost in the Stacks Hey Pat, Can you send me some picks.

Thanks!

♞ Pat Gent | 41 comments Hey, Abbie!

Your shelves are always so interesting to look at. Here's what I picked for you because *I* thought they were great reads...

The Perfume Collector by Kathleen Tessaro

The Mermaids Singing (Tony Hill & Carol Jordan, #1) by Val McDermid (but be ready because it's creepy!)

The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison
