Can't wait to get started (well yes I can - the time goes fast as it is!)
Thanks Brenda. I managed to get the Sign-up form right, but am still having trouble with the FB group and Twitter.
The links are https://www.facebook.com/groups/18223... and https://mobile.twitter.com/AusWomenWr.... I don't know why they're not working!

I had hope to have them masked, using the html, but for some reason, it wouldn't work for me. I guess I'll just leave the web addresses. I don't think anyone will mind!

No of course they won't!

Thanks Brenda, I'm happy to be participating!
I didn't get any email confirmation when I signed up. Should I have had something sent through? Just want to make sure I submitted my entry correctly.

I can't check as I've already signed up, but if you did all that, I'll contact Lizzy to check it out for you :) Sorry it's giving you grief!

I went straight to the site and followed the link from the homepage, but I figure that shouldn't make any difference. I filled out all the fields but didn't check any of the ticky boxes as they didn't apply. Just tried again this morning and had the same issue again.

So she'll be expecting your email :)

The AWW challenge was set up to help overcome gender bias in the reviewing of books by Australian women. The challenge encourages avid readers and book bloggers, male and female, living in or outside Australia, to read and review books by Australian women throughout the year. You can choose to read and review, or read only. (Our AWW review guidelines can be found here.)
This year, we’re particularly interested to see whether participants can review “classics” – books that might once have been popular but which have now fallen out of favour. On the AWW blog, we plan to dedicate a whole month to them, including authors whose names I’d never heard of such as Ernestine Hill, Henrietta Drake-Brockman, and Patsy Adam-Smith. If you know of any other authors or books that might fit the bill, let me know and we’ll see if we can add them to our AWW group book shelves.
We’re also keen to get more nonfiction and poetry reviews, as these are areas I’ve identified as lacking for the challenge so far.
The challenge will run from Jan 1 – Dec 31, 2017. You can sign up throughout the year till the end of November.
How to join
- download the 2017 AWW badge (above)
- create a sign-up post for your blog (if you have one) and here in the group
- enter your details in our sign-up form.
- Please follow the AWW blog or sign up for our newsletter while you’re at it. It’s a great way of staying in touch. Please include the optional additional information where relevant – it’ll help us get to know you. *Note: your information will not be used for any non-AWW-related activity.
-Nominate the number of books you plan to read throughout the year and share your reading on social media, such as in our new Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/18223... and on Twitter: https://mobile.twitter.com/AusWomenWr... (using the hashtag #aww2017), or here on Goodreads.
Choose your level:
Stella: read 4 – if reviewing, review at least 3
Miles: read 6 – if reviewing, review at least 4
Franklin: read 10 – if reviewing, review at least 6
Create your own challenge: nominate your own goal e.g. “Classics Challenge”
We’re also putting together another AWW Bingo card for 2017 so keep an eye out for that – it’s a lot of fun.
Here's to another great year of reading books by Australian women! I hope you'll join us.
