There are only a few more days of 2016 (yikes!) What were some of your favorite reads this past year?

My favorite read and my only 5 star read of 2016 was Six of Crows . I also loved Wolf by Wolf Stand-Off and Strings

BTW books can be older than 2016 - just books you read in 2016.

I had a few. ;) It's been a good year! All of these books made me really excited this year!

This book is the best of all decades.

Given that I started reading this year, which is embarrassing, but very happy that I did finally, I read a bunch of books and well they all were pretty good. But..these may top the list. :)

Not embarrassing at all! Some people go through life never reading, which makes me sad.

I don't think I have contributed to this group yet so I thought I'd start. I get a lot of good book suggestions from you all though so thank you! One of them was which is also one of my 5 star reads. Most of the others are still on my TBR list and I'm hoping to get to them soon.

Thanks Heidi. I almost didn't read Written in red because I didn't like the cover (eck) glad I got over it though as I loved the book. Going to start the next one very soon and I can't wait.

When the pop up screen comes up, at the bottom is 2 different options you can check: Link or Cover. It automatically has the Link checked, so just check Cover, and covers will come up instead of links in your comment.

HEIDI -- It must be a Canadian cover- we usually get the same covers as Australia, well, not ALWAYS, but a lot of the time...

I included it in my faves and I am not even finished reading it! So so good!

Some great picks Ashley - loved several of them including the Help and the Jasper Dent series (plus of course Soulless - Alexia!!!)

Oh wow some good ones! I really liked Erebos, A Prisoner of Night and Fog and the Help. LOVED the Jasper Dent trilogy, Not a Drop to Drink, Soulless, and in the Garden of Beasts. Nice reading year for you!

I want to thank this group for all the great recommendations and for always inspiring me! Here are a few of my favorites read in 2016:

Dixie - I have two of those in my TBR pile because of GR friends recs! One of the reasons I love GR so much is that it has really improved the quality of the books I read based on my friends recs and the reviews. I can't remember too many books I didn't finish that others on GR recommended to me but I do remember a ton of wonderful reads I found after friends here recommended them :)

Cool, Heidi! I so agree with you in that! Which two do you have in your TBR pile? I think one might be I'll Meet You There, maybe.

I was so happy with all the books that I read this year I couldn't pick one. But will be coping down some of the books listed here
