Baby, it's cold outside! That makes it a good time to read inside. What books are keeping you occupied this month?

I finished the Hate you give and it lived up to the hype and loved it and recommend it.

@Julie I've heard great things about that book so if it's living up to the hype it must be GREAT indeed!

I just had the pleasure of listening to Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Saenz. Not only was it a beautiful, beautiful story, but the reader was Lin-Manuel Miranda who was just marvelous. It's left me with a serious audiobook hangover, but I now have The Night Circus queued up. It's read by Jim Dale (of Harry Potter audio books) so I'm thinking it will meet my needs for audiobook excellence.

Currently holding my bookmark is Daisy in Chains a work of suspense by Sharon Bolton.

Listening to Al Capone Does My Shirts on eAudio and reading Lexicon for the Alt Library book club.

@Brendle - I'm still waiting for my turn with Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe on eAudio. I've heard such wonderful things about it!

I read it Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe from the recommendation of the youth librarian where I work. I fell in love with it then and now listening to you guys I want to hear it on audio as well!

I'm currently reading "Wangs Vs. The World." It's a nice light, easy read.

I added that oto my TBR list, after seeing it on a few or the book lists for this year. Glad to know it is an easy read.


I am reading one of my more favorite Urban Fantasy authors, Charles de Lint, I am very behind on some of his books so am catching up with The Painted Boy

Finally reading Orange is the new black. Love it

I'm in the middle of The Vanishing Year. Other than wondering why the heck the woman hasn't googled her husband or his first wife, it is pretty good so far.

I've read some great books this month including the March graphic novel series by Rep. John Lewis & Andrew Aydin. The books tell Rep. Lewis' experiences during the Civil Rights movement and they are truly powerful. I'm not much for graphic novels, but the format works well for this story, emphasizing the pain, determination and the horror of what the demonstrators were facing. It's very, very powerful.

On a lighter note, I finally got to read Lady Cop Makes Trouble by Amy Stewart, the sequel to Girl Waits With Gun and it was a delight from beginning to end. I am absolutely enamored of Constance Kopp and can't wait to read more of her adventures.

My son gave me the March trilogy for Christmas and I'm excited to finish them! Really interesting, very powerful, like you say.

I just finished listening to Hillbilly Elegy by J.D.Vance. I found it to be fascinating, in part, because it reminded me so much of some of the people I knew in Ohio.

I just finished The Martian -- couldn't put it down. Fantastic book. A page-turner, and I both understood and was fascinate by the science component in it. If anyone ever created a class called "High School Chemistry and more - through the requirements laid out in The Martian" I'd take it in a heartbeat! (Just no blowing up the lab with hydrazine!)
