This thread is for nominations for our next group read. It will start January 20 officially, but you can start any of the group reads any time you'd like.

Please nominate a book from our list of 100 books that we have not already had as a group read. The list of previous group reads is below, both in chronological & numerical order for your convenience.

Nominations will end December 20 at midnight. A poll will be put up for about another week if necessary.

If no books are nominated, one will be chosen using random.org.

Happy Reading!

Since there were no nominations, I'll post the selection here in a few minutes. I'll be using random.org to choose.

And the winner is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling.

Here's my issue with this one. It's a series book & I feel that we should start with the first one in the series. However, I'm rereading the series and have read the first 2 recently so if I read one in 2017, it will be Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I could read the 1st 2 again if need be as they are quick reads, especially the first one. Seems to me they get longer as the series progresses. I've only read the first 3.

The next one that comes up is Five Smooth Stones by Ann Fairbairn.

Anyone want to weigh in on this? I'm fine with either ... an HP or FSS.

So I heard back from someone who is interested in reading #68 Five Smooth Stones by Ann Fairbairn. So this will be our January & February group read. Remember that group reads for us begin on the 20th of the month. The original hardcover had 853 pages so we will donate 2 months to the reading of this one. I'll be lucky to get it read in that time. LOL
