Tell us a little about you! Your favorite genres to read, place to read, all-time favorite book, etc. Do you have a booktube channel? Book blog? Bookstagram? Here is where you post those links! :)

I'll start -

I'm Krista, booktuber since August of 2016. My youtube channel is booksandjams. I will be moderating this group and choosing books to read, but suggestions are very welcome! I have an instagram which is a mix of books, life and Jamberry - Krista_BooksAndJams. I use twitter rarely, but I'm @BooksAndJams on there too. I love to read a variety of books, but historical fiction is my favorite. My all time favorite book is probably Anne of Green Gables by LM Montgomery or Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. I look forward to chatting about books with friends both new and old! Welcome!!

Becky Hi! I'm Becky. I enjoy reading good books from many different genres, but my favorite genres to read are historical fiction, fantasy, thrillers and lately I've been enjoying some modern classics. My favorite place to read is in my big, comfy livingroom chair. My all time favorite book is hard to choose! Like Krista as I child, I loved the Anne of Green Gables series. I'm in the process of re-reading them. Redeeming Love is also a favorite book of mine. Some of my other favorites are Firefly Lane and Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith.

You can find me at:

Twitter: @BeckyG973

I look forward to getting to know everyone and reading with you. Happy Reading!

Debbi Faust Hi Becky, I saw your post and realized you and I like the same kind of books. Redeeming Love is one of my favorites. I have, also, read Firefly Lane and Winter Garden. Did you know there is s sequel to Firefly Lane called Fly Away? Historical fiction is my favorite genre. I have never read the Anne of Green Gables series but I have them on my shelves and hope to read them this year. The movies were wonderful.

Hi Debbie! Yes, I've read Fly Away too. Hahaha, we're opposites when it comes to Anne of Green Gables! I've never seen the movies. I need to watch them. There's also a new series coming out on one of the streaming services, I think? That's great that we have a lot of similar tastes in books. Hopefully, we can read some of these read-a-long books together and talk about them. I've already read All the Light We Cannot See and unfortunately I was one of the few that didn't care for it. Have you read it? Are you reading it now?

Hi Debbi! Welcome!

The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah was my favorite book of all in 2016, but I haven't yet read any other Kristin Hannah books. I'm hoping to rectify that this year! I have Winter Garden on my TBR for January and am looking forward to starting it after I finish All the Light. Glad you're here!! Can't wait to hear what you think of the book so far.

Also, I would love for you to share some of the reasons you didn't like All the Light. I love hearing different people's perspectives about books! We are not going to like ALL the same things! haha.

Yes ma'am! lol If it's on one of the streaming services I'll watch it this week. I promise! If not, I'll order a copy ASAP.

As far as, All the Light We Cannot See, I read it awhile ago so I don't remember a whole lot about why I didn't like it. I will read the summary if it's on the site (I forget the name) that summarizes books. I do remeber that I just didn't connect with the story. I usually love short chapters, but I felt with this book that the chapters were just too short. I think it affected the pacing for me. It took me a long time to read the book. I know I have the unpopular opinion on this book, but it just didn't work for me.

Hi Wendy, Welcome!!

Where in Upstate NY? I grew up in Syracuse and also lived outside of Rochester for a while. I usually say I'm from Central NY since upstate means different things to different people! :) I'm glad you're here and let us know when you jump in to booktube! It's really not as scary once you get started. The community is SO kind and welcoming! :) I look forward to reading with you!

Wendy (wmaresca) I live in Ballston Spa which is a couple minutes outside of Saratoga Springs and about 20 minutes north or Albany. I absolutely love it here. I could do with a little bit shorter winters but other than that it such a beautiful country. People just don't realize how nice it is here. I think people here NY and automatically think NY city. I will definitely let you know when I start my first booktube video I will need all the advice I can get. :)

randomreader (goodreadscomrandomreader) | 43 comments Hi everyone! So I'm posting a bit late, but my name is Jenna, and ever since I can remember, I've been obsessed with books and reading. This love of reading made me want to eventually become a children's librarian, which I am now at a public library in Florida. I love my job! :)

I started watching BookTube videos early last year, and became instantly hooked. I finally decided to start my own channel in December of 2016, and it's called "jenthelibrarian." I am loving the BookTube community! I'm SO glad I joined. Can't wait to talk books with you all!

I live in a fairly small town in NE Florida, about an hour south of Jackdonville and only about 30 minutes from St. Augustine. I love to read all kinds of books really, historical fiction, thrillers, biographies, and the occasional romance! I'm soon to turn 51, married, no children, but we have two spoiled, well loved cats!! I've been following Krista on Youtube, love watching your videos and am looking forward to trying to follow along here with some of your picks!!

Chad (findmeinanotherland) Hi, All!

I'm Chad and, as usual, I'm a bit late to the party. Oops!

I have recently rekindled my love of reading by allowing myself to "indulge" in fiction again. Don't ask; I have problems... I come from strong roots in science fiction and fantasy but have also been bitten by the romance bug, although almost exclusively of the M/M variety. I also enjoy the occasional cozy, thriller, horror, and literary fiction piece. I'm also a lover of non-fiction of all sorts as well as graphic novels.

I'll read just about anywhere, but I do enjoy silence, comfortable seating, and something caffeinated as accompaniments.

If you'd like to keep track of my adventures in life - reading or otherwise - feel fre to add me here on Goodreads or connect with me elsewhere:

Book Blog: https://chadreads.wordpress.com/
YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/Authentical...
Instagrams: https://www.instagram.com/cyclesandst... and https://www.instagram.com/authentical...

I'm looking foward to reading and discussing some books with all of you!

^_^

Samantha Leighanne (sleighanne) I just realized there was a place to introduce yourself so I will go ahead and do that...;)

I'm Samantha Leighanne, call me Sam, Samantha, Leighanne, whatever you feel like, I go by all. I had a book blog back in 2009-2011-ish, but these days I'm pretty much exclusively on Booktube and Goodreads. I LOVE discussing books with people so when I saw Krista's group mentioned in a video I was like YEA!
I read most genres honestly. Horror and historical fiction are probably my two favorites (I know, opposite ends of the spectrum), but I read a good but of YA and literary fiction as well.
Really excited to read and discuss with all of you!!

Patricia | 19 comments Hi everyone!!

My name is Patricia and I've always enjoyed reading since I was much, much younger....lol. I remember my BFF from high school (and still BFF today ;-)) reading Judy Blume (she was so scandalous for Freshmen reading back in the 80's...lol) and Dean Koontz. As a young adult I got into Sidney Sheldon...OMG....I just loved his books!! Then I ventured into African American fiction authors like E. Lynn Harris and Terry McMilllian. Then for some reason, I took a very long break from reading. But about 6 years ago I remember how much I enjoyed reading and stated reading again. Now my absolute favorite is historical fiction, specifically WWII but I also enjoy women's fiction, thrillers and mystery and just last year I've gotten into some YA and middle grade. I'm not sure where my fascination for WWII historical friction comes from, but every since I picked up Sarah's Key and Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet 6 years ago.....I've been hooked!!

Last year I discovered book-tube. I'm a former make-up junkie now turned book junkie, and I've increased my reading substantially since finding book-tube. I read 30 books last year, which was amazing for me!! Now I'm a book nerd and spend a lot of my time on book-tube watching videos or reading.

Some of my favorite books are The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, The Storyteller by Jodi Picoult, A Tree Grows In Brooklyn by Betty Smith and the last book I read in 2016, A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman. I have a reading room set up with my books and a reclining chair, but I always find myself reading in our guest bedroom with my kitties next to me.

I've contemplated starting a book-tube channel but haven't got the nerves up to do so yet. But I just love this community. So, we'll see if I ever get brave enough to take the plunge. I have a twitter account but I'm never on it. I do spend a lot of time on Instagram but I haven't posted a lot. I hope to start posting a lot more of what I'm reading this year on my Instagram account 3kittyluvs.

Other then my love for books, I live in beautiful Virginia with my husband and my 3 adorable cats. My husband rides a Harley so sometimes I have an alter ego, Bad-A$$-Biker-Chick....lol. But really I just ride on the back as a passenger and pretend to be Bad-A$$...lol.

Look forward to meeting all of you and hearing everyone's thoughts on some great books.

Some of my favorite authors are: Lisa See, Fredrik Backman, Kristin Hannah, Cathy Lamb, John Steinbeck, Ann Patchett, Kathleen Grissom, Mary Alice Monroe, and yes, I enjoy Nicholas Sparks.
