This past month has been full of "Best Of 2016" books, but I want to know what the worst thing you read this year has been.

Nothing comes to mind. There have been some that I didn't finish because they were just to meh but nothing that has been complete shitfests lol.
The worst one for me was "The Stranger" by Albert Camus. I presume it has literary merits, but I sure wasn't privy to any of them. I just wanted the main character to hurry up and DIE DIE DIE and stop tormenting all the people around him, and/or be magically zapped forward in time fifty years so he could get effective treatment for what smelled a lot like clinical depression.

Oh man, the second and third books of the Delirium trilogy were SO BAD.
I hated "Dog Stars." I guess it may have been better if I hadn't read "Station Eleven" first, but honestly probably not.

I tried Dog Stars on the recommendation of a friend. Not sure I read more than 10 pages before giving up. I just couldn't get into it.

Blood Meridian was selected for my book club. My god, what a horrible book.
