I've hit a point that's made me really upset. Have you read this book? Please tell me if I should finish it.
Basically I can't deal with stories about parents and children being separated, emotionally tortured, etc. (Ironically, that's a theme in one of my own novels, but it's because I was trying to deal with my issue with it.) I've come to a point in this books where
[SPOILER]
Lily has had her baby and Stephen has hired the nanny, as he intends to break her spirit by separating her from her son.
[end spoiler]
I know for some this is NDB, and certainly there are other parts of this novel that would be more upsetting to some. But what can I say, this is the button I can't deal with having pushed for me!
Everything I've found online indicates that the situation gets worse and that the ending inconclusive... should I keep going, or abandon ship?
