Jen Blood is one of my favorite authors, and I absolutely could not put any of her Erin Solomon books down until I’d read them straight through, the characters, Jamie Flint and Jack Juarez are introduced in that series, so I knew a bit about them going in.
Jack, an FBI agent is working on a missing person case where two young girls have disappeared in the mountains of Vermont. He calls in Jamie Flint and her canine search and rescue team to help find them.
As usual, Jen Blood has created an extremely detailed and complicated mystery. Her characters are very well developed and in her usual style, she describes the scenery with such vividness, you feel like you’re actually there.
There’s a bit of a supernatural twist to this one, however it’s not overwhelming and for those out there who don’t enjoy that genre, you won’t find it hurts the mystery aspect at all.
Fast paced and exciting, I’m very much looking forward to book 2.
