Benjamin Thomas | 104 comments 10 days to go folks!! Last stretch of the race! I ran one year of track in high school and the best part of every race was the last 100 yards! Stay strong. I've got 20 books to go in 10 days. Can I make it? I'm going to try a mix of short audiobooks and short stories the rest of the month until I cross the finish line.

May the odds ever be in your favor...

Faith (faithpotts) I'm already 19 books over my goal of 101. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!! :D

chai books and soup | 2 comments One little tip I can give is if you are an Audible member, you can buy a lot of their classics for really cheap if you first buy the Kindle book, which is usually either free or under $2. I've caught up several times throughout the year by listening to shorter classics mixed with my long books.

My favorites:
Alice in Wonderland read by Scarlett Johansson (2 hrs 44 mins)
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (1 hr 9 mins)
The Art of War ready by Aidan Gillen (Little Finger in GoT) (1 hr 7 mins)
Carmilla ready by a full cast including Rose Leslie from GoT (2 hrs 22mins)
Wizard of Oz read by Anne Hathaway (3 hrs 49 mins)
A Christmas Carol read by Tim Curry (3 hrs 33 mins)

Hope that helps and happy reading/listening!
(I have three books left)

Emma | 2 comments Does anyone know if there's anything that you need to do after reaching your goal to be entered in the giveaways, etc.?

message 6: by Faith (new)

Faith (faithpotts) I've wondered the same thing. @emma

Benjamin Thomas | 104 comments Nothing formal that I know of, unless Katie announces something.

Helen | 18 comments Yay! I've made it with a week to spare! There were times when I was sure I'd fall short, so I'm feeling pretty pleased with myself.

After the first of the year, I'll open a thread and have everyone who has reached 100 books report. Each winner will receive their choice of my e-books, and you can enter a drawing to win further prizes.

Faith (faithpotts) @K.M. Sounds great!

Joanne Roberts | 22 comments Thanks, but I feel like a winner without the drawing. Best. Challenge. Ever.

Man, totally agree. I have had a blast immersing myself in so many books. To be honest I'll probably try it again in '17, but probably wont make it as I'm going to try reading books in a new language i'm learning....

Rick Presley | 18 comments It was nice to see that Katie didn't make her 100 either this year. I was curious how she could be so copious in her output and get 100 books read at the same time. Work is the biggest obstacle I have to meeting the challenge. If I had a longer commute, I could have "read" more audiobooks. Either that or more traffic jams.

This has been a great challenge and even though I didn't make it, I'm grateful to have participated and look forward to figuring out which books I liked the best from 2016.
