Some suggestions based on my recent reads:
“Please Mr. Gravedigger” – Read a book about murder, or that prominently features a murder - The Basic Eight by Daniel Handler
“Teenage Wildlife” – Read a book that revolves around a group of teenagers - Dare Me by Megan Abbott
“Tonight” – Read a book in which one of the characters die - You Will Know Me by Megan Abbott
“Buddha of Suburbia” – Read a book that takes place in the suburbs - The Virgin Suicides by Jeffery Eugenides
“Where Are We Now?” – Read a book in which the main protagonist is lost (physically or mentally) - We Were Liars by E. Lockhart (it's the latter of the two, as she had an accident and is trying to piece what happened together throughout the book.)
As anyone can tell, I'm into YA for the most part, but I thought I'd throw these out there anyway.

I just created a blog post recommending books that can be used towards a variety of the "post apocalyptic, end times" type of tasks.

k., The Road absolutely fits for the end time, apocalyptic tasks. I was just pulling together a few of the titles I've read, there are a whole bunch more I could add. maybe at some point I'll do a part two to that list ;)
Sophie, reading is reading. Comics count. I agree that an entire series would count against one challenge task : )

{1971- The Bewlay Brothers” – Read a book that’s been labeled as an author’s “sell out” title}
I thought I would create a thread where we can pool our resources together for those who might need assistance with ideas for a particular reading task.
Feel free to ask for recommendations, or offer up books that you've enjoyed that can help others cross off a song....
