Orlok | 555 comments So halfway to your challenge already? Did you give yourself enough of a challenge...? ;)

message 6: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, Resident Book Pusher (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments Ugh. I wasn't' getting notifications for this thread..

:-(

But you are doing great!

message 7: by GA (new)

GA (garussell) | 349 comments Thanks Mrs. J!

Orlok, I want to meet my annual goal before the Canadian league season starts in June!

message 8: by DoodlePanda (new)

DoodlePanda | 1226 comments I guess I missed your thread too! :(

You seem to be right on track for your goal if you plan on being done in June though :D

message 9: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, Resident Book Pusher (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments Agreed! Lucky for me Football doesn't until fall-ish...and my team kinda regularly sucks.

So I still get in decent reading even in season (cause that emotional rollercoaster is too much for me).

message 10: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments My team is going to be playing in a brand new stadium so I'll be watching highlights alot while I can't get a ticket to go. :)

message 11: by GA (new)

GA (garussell) | 349 comments Homey, are you aware that cfl.ca has lots of highlights each week?

message 12: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments Yes, but thanks for the tip anyway. It's one of the only places I can get the highlights without having a TV subscription. All the TV I currently watch is only Netflix. I've been tempted to try some of the Amazon shows now that we get their service with Prime.

I end up listening to the Rider games on the radio. I am so low tech.

message 13: by GA (new)

GA (garussell) | 349 comments I listen to Rod and Carm on the internet!

message 14: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments Ive got A.M. radio complete with static.

I'm still in shock.

message 19: by Orlok (last edited Apr 18, 2017 06:35AM) (new)

Orlok | 555 comments Didn't have a single bit of chocolate (on a diet, at last...) :)

message 20: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments Just, so wrong.

I gave up extra sugar for Lent. It was difficult. Easter was not going to be denied.

message 21: by GA (new)

GA (garussell) | 349 comments Homey, Laura Secord?

Orlock, one of the many pleasures of Easter is making yourself sick on chocolate!!!

message 22: by Orlok (new)

Orlok | 555 comments GA wrote: "Homey, Laura Secord?

Too right, and I love chocolate. It helped that no one bought me any eggs :)

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments GA wrote: "Homey, Laura Secord?

There are other pleasures?

Yes a bit of Laura Secord, although if I want real decadence I'll treat myself to a few chocolates from Bernard Callebaut.

message 24: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, Resident Book Pusher (new)

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments I don't even like chocolate that much...

message 27: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments Older than me. I am getting close though.

message 28: by MrsJoseph *grouchy*, Resident Book Pusher (new)

And with that, ladies and gentlemen, I have reached my goal!

message 32: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments Congratulations. And the draft just occured. Good timing. :)

message 33: by GA (new)

GA (garussell) | 349 comments Right! Do you have any thoughts on the Riders' picks?

message 34: by HomeInMyShoes (new)

HomeInMyShoes | 2759 comments I obviously like the local boy Picton. I think it is the first move Jones has made that reflects the community-oriented fan base here.

4 OL is a good start as well. We need an offensive line and I like that pattern of generating a lot of young depth.

The CFL draft is little more than a crapshoot what with players potentially signing in the NFL. Better GMs find the players they need from the list of cuts or from trades with other teams when we have some depth at a position rather than relying on the draft. The Riders pretty much have no depth except at quaterback (albeit unproven and old.) There may be more than a little wishful thinking in Jone's head that QB injuries will allow us to trade Glenn to another team for a part we really need. We don't need Glenn, we need a young quarterback to build an offensive line around. We might have that in Bridge or Bennett, but it will take a least two years to be anywhere.

A little help for the defense too. I think that is reasonable.
Going to be a long season this year I think.

Overall, not displeased with the draft.

MrsJoseph *grouchy* (mrsjoseph) | 3289 comments One of my old classmates plays for the CFL. We always knew he'd be a professional.

EDIT: I forget how old I am sometimes, lol. He USED to play in the CFL and is now retired and last I read trying to coach in the CFL.

IKR??

message 45: by GA (new)

GA (garussell) | 349 comments Thanks Mrs. J! I found him in my encyclopedia. I don't remember him probably because he was an offensive lineman. He was with BC in 2002, Winnipeg 2003-06 and Sask in 2007.

message 46: by GA (new)

GA (garussell) | 349 comments Regarding the My Books page: For the past month, I have been unable to enter both my place and date of purchase. When I click on them, I get red squares with the word "error." Anybody know anything about this?

message 47: by Orlok (new)

Orlok | 555 comments I'm a bit confused - where are you trying to enter my place and date of purchase? These are not fields I'm familiar with and can't see them in the edit section I'm my books.

message 48: by Dazrin (new)

Dazrin | 216 comments I don't use those fields but you can see them if you go to the settings at the top when you are in one of your book lists.

GA, have you cleared your cache and possibly your history? You could also try in a different browser first. If it works in a different browser that may mean something is corrupted and you just need to clear things out.

message 49: by Orlok (new)

Orlok | 555 comments Ah, I see. By going into settings at the top, you can enable these fields. I tried this and am getting the same error as GA, so there obviously is some kind of problem.

message 50: by GA (new)

GA (garussell) | 349 comments Misery loves company, so it's great to see somebody else having this problem!
