I'm Cassandra - a SAHM to 2. Married for 18 years to my high school sweetheart. We homeschool and I blog about our life at http://glimpseofnormal.blogspot.com/ I love to read and have really gotten into inspirational fiction in the last few years. I always have a long reading list and not near enough time.

Good to have you here, Annette! Can't wait to see what you get read this year. :)

Hi Cassandra! I recognize you, too. ;) Happy to have you here!
I don't read nearly enough fiction; I need to include more! Maybe you can recommend some for me. I've got a TBR miles long and no time for it, either. I figure it's a season of life thing....

Yes! Sometimes I have more time to read then others. As my kids have gotten a little older, I get more time, but sometimes get busy doing other things. I would love to make reading a priority to myself this year.

I listen to audio books while I felt and I read quite a few books aloud to my family.

I have been an avid reader as far back as I remember, and I will read just about anything I can get my hands on. This past year, I completed reading 54 books across the board. Some of my favorites were "Girl on the Train," "Gone Girl," "Jackaby," "The Lake House," "Passenger," "Parenting with Love and Logic," and many more. If I were to make a reading resolution for the coming year, it would be to be more intentional about reading (and actually finishing) non-fiction books.
When I am not reading, and I am probably homeschooling (first grade), crocheting or watching Doctor Who. And just to top off my nerdiness, just about every Saturday evening, you can find me sitting around our kitchen table, with a group of friends, playing a role playing game called Pathfinder (similar to Dungeons and Dragons).

Katheryn - (I'm a Whovian, too! :P Though I don't play tabletop RPG's, I do play Lord of the Rings Online. You're in good company here. LOL)

My favorite books are non-fiction Christian, psychological thrillers, and light mysteries (you know, brain fluff books LOL).

Nerdy? Yes! We're not "gamers" but we do love strategy board games, AOE and my DH does an occasional LAN party for random game they like. I'd rather play a fighting v-game but that's rare.

Thank you for reading and I look forward to any feedback you would have for me!

I'm Gina Burgess. I am a grandmother extraordinaire to 4 grandchildren (9mos to 4 years old). I am an author and own two websites, one of which is eBookChristian.com where you can find specifically Christian/Faith/Family-Friendly books. I do book reviews on my blog http://uponreflectionblog.blogspot.com. I earned my Master's from Spring Arbor University in communication education.
I joined to ask you a few questions for a survey I am conducting. You might see this same question in other groups, too :)
Would you like books (Christian, Classics, and Family-Friendly) that have lesson plans embedded in the book? The books are designed to make learning a creative-thinking process, and the lesson plans use the internet and online resources as well.
If you would, what books would you like to see lesson plans in? How many lessons (5-day, 10-day?)
I so much appreciate any information you care to share!
Gina :)
I'm DaLynn, and if you're in this group there's a good chance you know me (or at least know someone who knows me), but I'll say a bit anyway. :P
Christian my whole life and married to Bill for 15 years, we homeschool our 5 kids ages 17, 13, 12, and 6yo twins - one of whom is my only girl. We live just outside of Waco, TX in a small country town.
I run a blog at holysplendor.com where I do homeschool reviews for the TOS Review Crew, and post about faith, family, and Christian Business. I sell Tupperware to supplement our household income, and in my spare time I do some reading and crafting. I plan to join a scrapbooking company in January that I'm super excited to start!
My favorite genres include non-fiction Christian and classics, and fantasy or mysteries are my guilty pleasure!
