Dean J Atkinson | 2 comments Keep seeing these posts come up just a question. Book one, are we talking Garden of The Moon or something else?

Scott, change the title and thread headings to reflect the book title, like all the other read threads, that way everyone will know what book it is relevant to.

Scott Hitchcock (lostinthewarrenofchaos) | 163 comments Sorry, will do.

Scott Hitchcock (lostinthewarrenofchaos) | 163 comments Kyle starts to gain more character this chapter. He's from Assail, his blade from Osseric can cut chains clean given their light power, and the Lady senses the Queen's presence with him.

I had to look it up on Malazan wiki for clarity but the Queen otherwise known as T'riss is queen of high house life. Kyle is in fact the solder. There's other positions that you can choose to look at or not below.

The sea battles were really interesting. I wish there was a view from the Moranth perspective but getting a look at them closer is cool.

I wish Kiska and Jheval's story would get moving. Them being trapped by the hounds only has so much staying power.

The lady is looking more and more like the Cripple and the Dying god. A tyrant curse who rules through suffering. I expect with Blues and the Malazan's coming the defenders of the wall are going down.

One of the more political chapters from ICE depicting friendly fire as more horrible than the attacks of the defenders. I always liken the chemical attacks to napalm.

Eugenio | 108 comments The battles at sea also drew me in. Loved getting to see a bit more of the Blue Moranth and how deadly they truly are.

Kyle was a character I grew to hate a bit, but stonewielder grew him a bit and he wasn't so... wishy-washy any longer.

Kiska and Jheval, or whatever his name is, trapped by hounds... Esselmont just didn't know how else to slow down their progression, so hey let's throw them in a cave and.... oh yeah Hounds of Shadow have nothing else to do!

The Lady's followers on the wall sure do sound like fanatics, similar to tCG's crippled followers.

Scott how are finding the depictions on the Wall? I found myself trying to piece together where I was a few too many times. I understand that the book comes with a map, but the writing threw me around a bit and I couldn't keep track of the locations on the wall clearly

Scott Hitchcock (lostinthewarrenofchaos) | 163 comments I had a harder time piecing together where the Malazan invading force was in relation to the wall or the Malazan defending force. Ditto for Blues and his gang. In ROTCG as an example I had the continent mapped out in my mind and understood who was coming from where.

Eugenio | 108 comments Yes the Malazan movements were confusing as well, including where Blues and the canoe squad were. I might be confusing the wall movements with later on in the book. When everything converges at the wall, it does get a little hairy as to who is where and why/how some people just appear at different spots

Rob (nefariasbredd) | 8 comments Agreed. Just got past this chapter. While there is no shortage of action, I've been finding that for both this book and the ROTCG, I'd love a good old fashioned troop position map that you see in history books. There was a map like that, if recall correclty, in Abercrombie's "the heroes" that was quite helpful!
