I've been listening to a discussion of Emerald (Dublin) Noir with
Val McDermid
and she presents the idea that there is no Catholic noir fiction.
I'm not sure if I believe this. There must be some Catholic authors.
Another idea put out is that crime fiction could not succeed in Ireland until after the Troubles were over. I'm better with that one.
Any thoughts?

Is she specifically referring to Ireland?
Graham Greene would be a bit of an issue with her theory, if she means generally.
