I LOVED Kill the Boy Band on audio! It was so funny and really brought the whole thing to life! I did start Strange the Dreamer but was having a hard time staying into it. It's a little too high fantasy for me and the side gods plot was jarring for me. I think I got about 4-5 discs in before I bailed lol.

I really wanted to like it too :( I think if it were just Lazlo's story, I would have continued reading. I found the gods unlikable- not sure if that's intentional or not. Le sigh. lol

I wondered if that was the case, going around with someone nicknamed The Godslayer. Interesting...

A month or so ago I was running around the library desperately seeking a book to read over a long weekend and turned to our wonderful Reference Librarian for a rec. She came up with Bellweather Rhapsody and was so excited about my reading it that she went into the stacks and brought it to my desk (Woot!).
I rarely read adult fiction but she got me really excited about it! The poor thing sat around after that weekend as I dove into a book club book and then a few after that but THEN I finally finished it on a flight, flipping through pages to discover the final clues.
Racculia expertly depicts teenagers in their angst and adults in their uncertainty as well as vice versa, exploring a smorgasbord of human emotions with a little light humor and suspense with multiple mysteries.
So... this was an awesome rec!

I am all ears!"
All depends what you are in the mood for. Right now, I'd recommend The Dreadful Tale of Propser Redding because it's so perfect for fall! It's funny and snarky and hits a lot of the same notes as Hocus Pocus (with Bette Midler)

So I read
by Kristen Ciccarelli and am dying for the sequel. This was a book that I had 0% expectation for, but had been recommended it by Shelfawareness (and I think Kirkus). After reading the first four chapter previews on EpicReads, I immediately placed a hold.
This book has a strong/badass female lead, dragons that can be lured by stories, and all of the Game of Thrones vibes you could want. There's a lot of action and the pacing is amazing, and the author does such a good job describing the territories, the peoples, and the religion- as well as the characters involved, like I had no issue remembering who was who.
I have NO idea where the sequel will go, but I'm in.

Heck yes! What type of books do you like to read? Also, any preference between children's/middle grade/YA/adult?
