This is a large stretch (maybe) but I think that
by Sabaa Tahir could technically go here. It's a 2 POV story- one story following Elias, a Roman-esque student-soldier training to become a ruthless killer, and the other following Laia, a Scholar who's sole mission is to rescue her brother. Using the help of the Resistance, Laia infiltrates Elias' school- posing as a slave to gain insider knowledge. The more intel she collects, the closer she is to freeing her brother.
This was a good book. I would have loved it more if it was a duology instead of a series *shrugs shoulders* but the characters and the world are interesting. I can see why my teens devoured both. It's this dystopian/fantasy/realistic hybrid based loosely on the Roman Empire and it's got a lot of action.
