And this is where I will have to place Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentner by Jeff Zentner . I'd love to place it on so many other challenge lists, but those spots were taken lol.

So, this book follows Carver, a senior at a private arts school. He and his best friends are ready for college in the fall, where Carver will continue to write. That is until Carve maybe/maybe didn't kill his three best friends. As legal possibilities mount on Carver, he finds himself struggling with grief and processing alongside Jesmyn (Eli's widowed girlfriend), his friend's nana, and his sister's old therapist. The story has a bit of humor, although dark, in Carver and definitely will hit you in the feels.

It's an awesome follow-up to Zenter's debut title, The Serpent King .

I was VERY intrigued by this sentence as well as the overall premise! This seems to take on the points of grief and guilt from multiple perspectives so I can really see teens loving its dark humor.

(I love the cover the most so far! It gets right to the heart of the conflict while being something very recognizable!)

Yes! The cover definitely does it's job here! Some covers miss the mark or look awful, but whoever does Jeff Zentner's books knows how to catch and eye and stick to point.

Well worth the read :) (And it's this group's extra April read!)

Ashley (ashezbookz) Ive read many 2017 books (non YA) romance arcs and one thriller.. but Mays book came out in 2017 as well didnt it? I requested it at library since it'll probably take ages to come through new releases suck for library.. hopefully before May lol

I'm currently now reading goodbye days though :)

Yes it did. The Bone Witch , this group's book for May, came out in March of 2017. It's newer, definitely, but I'm not sure it's as hyped as some of the others. (Though I say that and every time this book has a Giveaway on Goodreads, it has like 1,000+ people interested).

Camp So-and-So was a ride from start to finish. This book has some mixed reviews but I absolutely loved it.

Readers follow five different cabins and, thus, five different stories that each seem to stem from a different genre such as romance, fantasy, or horror. The chapters are short as we bounce from cabin to cabin, with interludes from the mysterious narrator, keeping the pace quick.

Though we follow 25 girls, it becomes fairly easy to keep them all separate as they are so unique. My fear that each camper would be cookie-cutter stand-ins quickly evaporated by chapter two. Readers get to meet diverse characters with great backstories!

My teens will love this for the trills alone, but the story is weirdly wonderful too.

I think I'm going to spend February catching up on some OwlCrates I never got around to reading and this is one of them. I'm 'meh' about the cover, but it sounds great!

Kaitlynn | 1 comments Hi I'm Kaitlynn and I'm new here. I just finished P.C. Cast's Sun Warrior. Still boardering whether I liked it or not, but I'm going to continue the series. Also I loved the Daughter of the Pirate King! The characters are so sassy and I have a weakness for sass.

Hello Kaitlynn! Welcome to the group! The 2018 Challenges are the Popsugar Challenge ( https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... )and the Riveted Reads Challenge ( https://www.goodreads.com/topic/group... ). You should see those discussion board posts on the homepage, just after this one.

There's also an optional (well, technically they're all optional ^_^ ) Cassandra Clare/emmabooks 2018 Read-a-Thon (which you'll find mentioned in a post here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/... )

My advice is to add Sun Warrior to a post on either or both challenges now so you don't forget. Then, you can keep track (personally) by making a new shelf list called "Popsugar Reading Challenge 2018" and "Riveted Reading Challenge 2018." After you finish a book, you can check the mark the book fits under and come back to this group to view your books, track your progress, and (what I do) make note of which books you put under which posts- it can get hard to track 40, 25, etc.

Looking forward to your posts! PS, Now I really need to read Daughter of the Pirate King! lol
