The Sun Is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon on audiobook.

Yoon is from Jamaica, so I put this book here.

Unpopular opinion: I did not like this book. That being said, I loved the talks about racism, race, and sexuality. (Sexuality as in inner dialogue about wanting to "do it".) I didn't like the audiobook production (especially Tasha), but I would recommend this to my teens.

Nightlights author Lorena Alvarez Gomez was born and raised in Bogotá. While she has collaborated with others before, this appears to be her first solo novel and WOW it is amazing!

Just look:

The illustrations are beautifully vibrant and the story echoes classic fairy tales with a touch of contemporary struggles of finding oneself in a high-pressure society.

This one was pretty easy as I haven't been out of the country... ever. :(
