The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly
Minnow Bly has been through the torture of a cult that her family forced her into at age five; young enough to have no power, but old enough to know that this is wrong. For twelve years she hid her true self, sneaking away to meet with a boy, questioning their leader (but never too much), and trying to survive. After her escape, she finds the outside world can be cruel as well, but beautiful in a way she never imagined possible.
Minnow is a strong character and a fierce fighter; her experiences have taught her only that she must look out for herself and others, because no one else may care enough to do something. This unique story is both harrowing and inspiring as we learn more of Minnow's present and her past.

Ugh! That's too bad to hear. I may read it at some point still, but its going further down on my TBR list.

It's sweet story and a great diverse title to add to your collection.

hahaha, that's because it's a good one! I was attracted to the cover and stayed for the cuteness and the discussion the characters were having.
