I'm reading this book now as my first Cinderella retelling. I'm really liking it so far.

Finally finished--took longer because I was listening to the audiobook while driving.

I had started this book in print form when it first came out, and got bogged down. But in audio form, I got hooked. I will listen to the rest of the series.

Meyer's mash-up of sci fi with the elements of the original awed me. Particular praise due for making me empathize with the little droid. (The reader handled this character vocally quite well, BTW.) I did figure out the big secret early, but that didn't spoil the experience.

My only complaint would be to the editorial staff, who should have weeded out some repetitive phrases. The repetition is glaring in the audio version. (If I had a dollar for every time somebody "craned his/her neck," I could have paid for the audiobook.)
