Melissa (miss_melissalee) This is your place to discuss the book in depth. SPOIL AWAY! What did you like? What didn't you like? What do you wish was different? What was your favorite part? (The list can go on and on! These are just some questions that you can answer!)

So I'm about 80 pages in so far and I'm liking it so far! :D I think it's funny that Evie seems to be born out of her decade. She seems more like a girl we'd encounter nowadays rather than in the 1920s. Which I guess is one of the reasons why she gets sent to her uncles as punishment, other than her newfound ability.

Has anyone else started this yet?!

MsArdychan | 5 comments I wrote a review for this book that will be posted to my blog, Pondering The Prose, on Tuesday. But I will say now that I loved this read! It really brought forth that moment in time. I was rooting for Theta and Memphis, although their romance seems doomed due to their racial differences.
Although I liked Evie, I also found her selfish and childish at times. You would think she would understand that people want to use her, but she seems to think she can outsmart them. She can't!

I have to agree that I am rooting for Theta and Memphis, but I have to also agree that I think it's going to be doomed because of the time and their different races. But I'm still holding out hope!

And yes, I loved Evie for the most part. It was basically at the end of the novel where she decided to tell her story to the press even after Will urged her not to. I hated that she did that. :/

But I do have to say that I LOVE Evie and Jericho together!

Stace Campbell | 4 comments I loved how atmospheric this novel was, it really took me to 1920s New York with the flapper girls, the way the reporters spoke/acted and all the nifty 20s speak- copacteic and it's all joke and ski added to everything. Loved this.
